Default Oil Cooler.

Well the overheating thing has improved dramatically. Between the miles on the engine and the new fans and waterpump.

Now I am putting a oil cooler in. It is expensive and it is made with parts and then one is modified. It will have a aluminum shroud and a 513 cfm fan. It has a 160 degree tstat. And I am putting it in the front wheel well. More heat away from this motor. And not just putting it in the cooling system.

It is rated at 17,000 Btu.

Car is doing well now. I drove it 25 miles on the freeway in 85 degree weather. And then back in stop and go traffic. I also been driving with the air on in similar conditions. It gets warm faster that way of course.

It seems to level out at 194 at the t stat and 210 at the head and go no higher. 154 in the radiator.

Parts for this project should start rolling in tomorrow.

So it it doing much much better than originally. Pegging the gauge and going to 260 in 5 miles in 90 degree weather. with no A/C on.

Okay it is completely done tools away. And it is clean again. It was fingerprint heaven.

It's fan kicks on at 170 or when the A/C is on. If the A/C is on at a cold start it gonna be hot quick and needs a had start.

Here is a photo op of the old guy with a new shirt. Right color and right car. Dont see that much.

Now it gonna be a week before this rain stops. To get to drive it again.

Well I am enjoying the car alot. Oil pressure is alot better now. So it is cooler.

I bought a 36 inch square sheet of aluminum. A set of electric metal shears. And a set of 16 inch fans. Gonna make some upgrades in airflow.

Fans should come tomorrow.

Doing the math. This is 50% more surface area open under fans. Not under the shroud.

It is fine i can drive it anywhere now. But the old expression the never ending project hold true.

It is my toy got to play with it.

Oh yes that was the deal. 80 degrees a/c on and it never went over 180 sitting in traffic.
