Default Wanting to hunt down a chevelle

Hi all. ive been looking for a way to track down my dads 70 chevelle SS that he got rid of years ago. he did crash it but i dont think he scrapped it. just sold it. so does anyone know of a site(s) that would help me track down the car as i would like to buy the car back. im really hoping it was just purchased and is just sitting in a garage somewhere. any help would be wonderfull. Thanks! -Mike

Do you have the VIN? If so you could try and run a carfax on the vehicle.

I'd put as much information as you have on it and post it...like, color, VIN, pictures, State and town you live in, motor and anything else you can remember.

Rattler, do they have records of cars that old? I've been trying to find my old GTO and posted on the GTO sites and I have the VIN.

Thanks,
Ric

They should show the current owner or who registered it at the DMV most recently.

Carfax would be the route to take.

Car fax only works on a vehicle with a 17 digit vin.

This is my VIN for my 64 GTO (824P38755) and it only has nine digits...I'd really like to find this car as well.

That's something I did not know. I've seen it done, but I guess it wasn't on anything this old.
