Actually, you really want slightly more positive caster on the right side to compensate for the crown in the road.
I've actually done about a 100 Chevelle alignments... whenever I can get on the rack...most of them on my own cars. :D |

Just to update this...
I completed the wheel alignment on my '70 wagon this morning after total rebuild of the front suspension last week using the original factory upper/lower control arms with stock (no offset) cross shafts. Upper and lower bushings are PST poly. Here are the final specs from the printout sheet: Camber L/R 0.4/0.5 degrees (Specs is 0.0 to 1.0) Caster L/R +2.2/+2.3 degrees Toe L/R 0.16/0.15 degrees (Spec is 0.13 to 0.25) This was on a state of the art Hunter alignment machine; Laser driven & Windows based. I forgot to write down the actual shim thicknesses used at each of the 4 positions but can go look if anyone is interested. |
Update on part of this thread. When I was at the NOCC show 2014 on Friday morning I was talking to the guys at the O'Reily's tent and told them about my experience about the oil change and filter.
Found out that the gentleman that I was talking to was a District/Area manager and he did something for me that I never expected. He came over to my car, climbed underneath it and got the filter number off the filter. Before the end of the day on Friday he walked over to me, handed me 2 bags with 6 qts of Royal Purple and a WIX oil filter. How Awesome !!!! |
Wow, good deal. That Royal Purple isn't cheap.
|
Good goin............I guess it does pay to bitch.....err complain sometimes.
