I second that !

We are all going to have to sit down together for at least a little while. Maybe we will be able to coordinate a "date and time".

I like this flyer Mark. Did you contact the Cruisin'News here in Michigan to get in the Magazine ?

shadowgray396 03-19-2013 10:19 PM

I need to know what airport to fly into for the show. It looks like Cleveland to me with a trip of about 21 miles to get to the hotel. Need to book my flight.

Ms Grumpy 03-20-2013 06:22 PM

Not sure Ray, but I know that there is an airport fairly close because there is always pilots and flight attendants who are staying at the hotel.

I am pretty sure that the Strongsville Holiday Inn is considered the Airport Holiday Inn for the Cleveland Airport.

BillsCamino 03-20-2013 07:31 PM

It is...and that hotel provides an airport shuttle to CLE.

http://www.ihg.com/holidayinn/hotels...sv/hoteldetail

Distance: 8.0 MI/12.87 KM SOUTH WEST to Hotel
Complimentary Shuttle Available
Start out going W towards Park Rd. Turn L onto Park Rd. Turn L onto Five Points Rd. Stay straight to go onto Snow Rd/Five Points Rd. Merge onto I71 S toward Columbus. Merge onto Royalton Rd/OH82 E via Exit 231A.
Arrive at 15471 Royalton Rd on the R.

Didn't I answer this question already??? Deju vu....
My wife always flies into Cleveland on the Friday of this show and takes the shuttle over to the hotel.
I usually get there at some point on Thursday....trailering a car.

Ms Grumpy 03-23-2013 10:56 PM

Just found out some good news for me. And may also put a smile on flash and his Mrs face. Tonight I asked my brother Eric if he would be the driver of my Van to the NOCC show.....and he said yes.

For those of you who don't know about my brother, he is the one who did most of the build on my car. He is the nicest guy and is the best brother anyone could have. Eric and I have always been close and he is the kind of guy who is always willing to help others out and it feels really good for us to be able to give him a weekend away to enjoy some beautiful cars and wonderful people.

Good thing I booked three rooms. lol

flash 03-24-2013 02:49 PM

YAY ,tell him we are selling 50/50 again ,not that we would constantly take his money. We look forward to seeing him and everyone else.

Ms Grumpy 03-24-2013 08:32 PM

John, you and Joan are always willing to take anyones money. lol.... I just wish that I could win. Maybe this is the year. Keeping my fingers crossed. But whether we win or lose we always love it when you stop and talk to us.

flash 03-24-2013 08:57 PM

I hope we have more time to BS this year .

72convertible 03-28-2013 12:16 PM

I just got a report from the Holiday Inn Strongsville. We have 87 rooms booked for Thursday, 129 rooms booked for Friday, and 127 rooms booked for Saturday. This means we have about 42% of the hotel booked just for our event. Call 440-238-8800 for reservations. Special rate for Show
Attendees $83/night, plus tax. Hotel Rate ends July 15, 2013.
Give group code: “Northern Ohio Chevelles” when calling.

Got my 3 rooms booked. We are hoping that you bring back the Thursday night Karaoke this year, missed it last year. lol

Now that the weather is breaking in the North, and people are getting their cars out of storage, I am sure the hotel numbers will go up quickly.

So how is the registration for the show going ? Do you think you are going to be bigger than last year ?

72convertible 04-17-2013 03:15 PM

Yes, we are way farther ahead than years past. Currently there are 80 Chevelles registered for the show. Hoping to sell the parking lot out!

We need to start getting our 71/72 buddies to the show john:banana:

Ms Grumpy 04-29-2013 05:16 PM

Hey, I'm going. lol...

I am just hoping to get a good spot like we have had in the past few years. Heck, with all the cars coming, there won't be a bad spot.

So how many more spots do you anticipate you have Mark ? What about the banquet, have you sold that out yet ?

72convertible 05-22-2013 07:20 AM

Sorry for the late reply - I had to reset my password for this site....

We are currently have hit the halfway point for filling the parking lot.

We have 100 sold and 100 spots left. This is way ahead of last years pace with 2 1/2 months before the show so thats why I am encouraging people to sign up early.

I just got a report from the hotel showing 121 rooms booked so I know a few people have not sent in their registration but have booked the hotel.

We have 173 Banquet tickets, the room can hold 377.

Here is our latest video staring our new Parrotlette

72convertible 06-14-2013 09:46 AM

FYI We have changed to the "Top 50" instead of top 40. These are voted on by the participants. We also have over a dozen special awards picked by the sponsor of the award. We cordinate our picks so each entry only recieves one award. In fact, some awards have nothing to do with your Chevelle....just ask Jim Brady who fell asleep in the bushes last year and received the Holiday Inn Sleeper award. We like to spread the wealth. We also give away a lot of prizes based on a raffle ticket. This is not Super Chevy or MCACN - our awards are a mix of quality evaluations and fun, and the methods for picking winners can change on the fly. I'll give you guys the inside scoop.... The guys that help you park on the show field (Bryan & Craig) are the ones who cordinate and help choose the winners, so make sure you are nice to them!!

Meldrum Show Engineer Award - Best Engineered
Bruce Bender Memorial Award - Best Convertible
Bone Creeper - Hard Luck Award
Holiday Inn - Sleeper Award
Strongsville Police - Most Likely to Evade
Peoples Choice
Young Guns (under 30) 1st Place,2nd, 3rd Place Jeff and Tracie Paulin
Best Mailbu - Dave Hambilton
Best Chevelle - Flaming River
Best El Camino - Lorkowski Family
Best of Show - Don Sitts

PS - Our members are not elgible for these awards. They will be competing for a "Top 10" picked by Ken Smith - The award is called Kenny's Sweet Tea Top 10.

Ms Grumpy 06-14-2013 08:02 PM

Mark, one of the reasons that I love your show is the fact that you do spread the wealth. I know many of the cars at the show are pristine, and at other shows they would win multiple awards. But at your show, everyone has a chance to walk away with an award.

There are so many people who have put their heart and soul into their car and it is beautiful. There are many stories behind the cars and builds that make the car more beautiful. And the NOCC makes sure that these people know that other people see it. Your show is one show that every Chevelle owner should attend at least once. And who knows, they might just walk away with an award, which by the way are really cool looking.

BillsCamino 06-14-2013 09:29 PM

I agree.
My award graciously presented at last years show...kept me warm during St. Patty's weekend in Dublin.

Is it me, or has the cruise in the Park been moved back on Friday night. I am actually glad, should be less traffic and the drive thru the park should be absolutely beautiful.

I talked to my brother Eric yesterday, he is going to drive my van to the show cause it is too hard on grumpy. My brother is all set and excited to see all the Chevelles and to see John and Joan again.

I happened to notice that the 72's this year seem to have grown. :)

flash 07-12-2013 08:01 PM

Tell Eric we cant wait to see him ,as well as everyone else ,tell him to bring plenty of 50/50 money .

Yes we moved some things around - even awards banquet is later to give us more time to count votes.
PS - I did catch the mistake on year at top of form.

Ms Grumpy 07-15-2013 08:25 PM

I figured you had enough to do that I wouldn't point that out. lol

*****SHOW INFORMATION*****
We have 190 registered for the show. Its going to be tight this year so dont blow a head gasket.

Guys with trailers...(about 75 of you) this is the plan...
This will be on a first come first serve basis....

1. 25+ will be parked in the Holiday Inn Parking Lot
2. 30+ will be parked in the Ice Rink next to the Holiday Inn - We would like all open trailers in this parking lot because of the layout.
3. The overflow will be parked at the South Park Mall which is 1/2 mile west of the Holiday Inn. The facilities engineering manager at the mall is a club member so he will make sure that the mall security keeps an eye on your trailer. We will give you a diagram on where to park.

Please bring a block of wood for your toungue jack to protect the ground.

Remember.... None of us get paid to run this show and all proceeds go towards running the show next year and charities. So....Please keep your wining to a minimum when we tell you where to park your Chevelle and Trailer.
