I can't get Genny, or 12 horse, or even Genny Cream Ale, or Utica Club either...or Saranac. :(

Highway Star 04-29-2010 07:01 AM

Mike, they are beers from a certain brewery in NY, near where I'm from. Being waaay out there on the other side of the country, I'd be surprised if you had heard of any of them. The Saranac (Utica, NY) beers have national recognition...pale ale, black and tan, etc., and Genesee brewing (Rochester, NY) has been around for a long time.

My favorite use to be Olympia but it's very hard to find anymore since Bud bought them out. Now it's either MGD 64, or JD and diet coke but I'm not allowed to have JD anymore since the diet.

Did I tell you guys about them freaking helicopters runing my sanity?

Hank70SS 05-04-2010 08:25 AM

I bought my hinges at HD. We painted every room after we moved into this house. Replaced all interior door hinges with Stanley solid brass hinges. Tossed all those cheap plated hinges in the trash.

I came unhinged the other night.

Back to topic, whatever it was...
More photos by posters is always good. Quick answers to questions by those who know or have the experience. I'm 53 and I just started this terrible obsession with old cars. :D

Here's the other part of my problem with endless modifications:

What is so terrible about an old car obsession ? Theres always something else much worse like collecting rocks, playing paintball games, sports, collecting dust, working too much.Oh, theres also that obsession with the internet thing which I might possibly have. I am obsessed with old cars ,internet, yard work somewhat ,and yardsaleing on weekends but absolutely no sports .

grandsport 05-04-2010 02:38 PM

I am obsessed with obsessions, not to the point of being extreemly obsessed ,most likely just a mild obsession.

grandsport 05-04-2010 04:06 PM

I am obsessed with them helicopters. I was out after dark sweeping them up and first thing this morning.

I think you're exaggerating the amount of helicopters in your yard. Can you provide an accurate count of the number that have fallen in your yard so we can determine the real extent of this problem.

rak1 05-05-2010 03:05 PM

Hank don't tell Gary I sent my Grandmother over to his house to plant plastic helicopters all over his front yard.:D

Hope they don't sprout into plastic maple trees!

shadowgray396 05-05-2010 06:35 PM

Maybe he needs a flock of plastic pink flamingo's to eat all those plastic maple trees or helicopters in his yard..

grandsport 05-05-2010 08:34 PM

Good news. After 4 hours of working on the front lawn, every single one is gone!. I feel much better now.

You dropped em all in my yard didn't you ?

flash 05-06-2010 06:55 AM

I will trade you sticky weed (thistle) for all those helicopter thingies you are fighting with.I dont know if yall have thistle in the colder climates but you sure dont want any. My property is surrounded by farm pasture land that is covered with thistle and when it blooms it releases thousands of tiny seeds that find their way to my yard. I have dug up several hundred so far this year and they just keep coming up. There is no way to control them without spraying all 80 acres of them ,so I just dig them up between mowing. I hope you never encounter anything as stuborn as this stuff is. And it makes for a nice uneven yard from all the holes from the root balls.
