I`ve got 15x7 Cragar Eliminator 500 wheels with 4.125" back spacing front and rear with 215/65/15 front and 235/60/15 rear. Plan to go a little wider on the rear when the time comes.
|
Have 15x7 Cragar SS all the way around. 225/70R/15 fronts and 275/60R/15 on the rears.

Right now my 72 has Weld Rodlites, 7 and 8 in. Tires are 215/70, and 255/60. Just listed them on Craigslist. Was going to buy the Centerline Quaulifiers, but they said 2 mths on the 8 in. So I'll guess I'll go with the Billet Specialties Street lites. Now to decide on tires.

On my birthday three years ago my husband bought me a set of 4,
NITTO INVO TIRES Rear 255/50/17 Fr 245/45/17 TORQ THRUST M RIMS 17 x 8 4.5" backspace They handle great and gave my car the look I wanted. |
I just put a set of Billet Specialties Street lites on mine, 6in and 8 in. I put 205/75's and 275/60's. Looks good, and I also have a set of Weld Rodlites, 8in and 7in with a set of 255/60's, 215/70's for sale. Tires have 1500 miles on them.

From what I gather, you want the wheel width the same or close to the tread width.. With 15 x 7 wheels, I mounted 255/60-15 and 275/60-15 tires just for kicks (photo).. The tires didn't grip worth a damn.. I switched to 225/70-15 tires on the same wheels and they grip much better..
I'm having Series 62 wheels made up , 15 x 8 with 5.5 backspace and I'm using Master Craft 245/60r15 tires.. I'm having the wheels painted the same color as the car with dog dish hub caps.. |

I am currently running 15x8 corvette ralley wheels with 245-60x15 bfgs on the front, and 275-60x15 bfgs on the rear. Cae is set up with 2" drop all the way around. Currently no rubbing or other fitment issues.

15x5 fronts with 215/65 high speed tires
and 15x8x5.5bs rears was 275/60 MT Drag radials [8.9"tread footprint] now 295/55 drag radials [needed 5/16" spacer] to shoehorn in there... 11"tread with 28"diameter :) |
convss. I have 15X8 rear and 15X7 front, but I am wanting to get 15X8 for front so they are all same size. the car came this way when I bought it. it has 245 60 rears now. question. is backspacing on these 4.25 or 4.50?

Quote:
do you have stock 15x8 rims now? do you want the bs to match on the rims you want to purchase:confused: that way you would have 4same size tires on 4same type rimsBowtie smiley |
the rear has 15X8 rallys. yes, I want the same size all the way around. the seller said the rims were GM rallys. I don't know the back spacing on the rears. but I hear either 4.25 or 4.5. I am looking at VISION AMERICAN MUSCLE 55 Rally Series silver wheels from Summit racing. these are 15/8 with 4.25 backspacking.

I had 17x8 and 18x9.5 Beyern wheels but recently switched to American Racing VN007 Rodder wheels in the same sizes. Same tires.
I’m probably going to change them again because the front rub the inside of the front fenders. The Wilwood disc brake extra width is the culprit and American Racing has such a poor selection of offsets i’m going to switch brands. |
