My "new" GMC

'96 4wd It has a 350, auto trans, grandpa owned/one owner, service records out the wazoo, seats look barely used, carpet is nearly perfect. It is a nice truck. 150,000 miles, new ac compressor, new rubber, looks like it just got a tune-up too.

My younger son saw the red GMC on the grill and said...his name is Jimmy C, right daddy? It has stuck. I usually don't name or refer to my vehicles as boys, but I think I like it. My son patted him on the wheel and said he's a big boy daddy. :D

Once I get that POS F#$& out of my driveway I'll be all GM with the wife's buick, the Chevelle, and Jimmy C.

He is a big boy, nice looking truck. We had a couple in the past when the kids were younger.

Get a hypertech chip in that baby and you wont be sorry!

Nice truck, if that truck was up here in Michigan it would be a rust bucket.

You can haul lots of Chevelle parts in that thing.

That is a 2500 isn't it? Good ones are hard to find, congrats!

grandsport 07-05-2010 01:13 PM

Hey Jake, you tired of it yet? I'll buy it if you are.:p

Highway Star 07-05-2010 01:30 PM

It is a 1500. I've got a few things in mind to make it my own, wheels, stance, "intake"/exhaust, maybe a brush guard and some auxiliary lights/55w backup lights. I need to hunt for some of these on the used market. I'd love to score a chip for it, but those are like $200 or $300, aren't they?

It would definitely be rusted out if it was from up north, no doubt about it. I bought it for $3700, and I'm certain that if I keep it in good shape, I could easily get that much for it if I ever needed to let him go. It blue books at over $5000.

Weird thing happened, when I was test-driving it, the SES light came on, I stopped at autozone and had the code read...P1406 EGR out of position. It stayed on for the trip home, about 90 miles, and hasn't come back on since.

Nice !!!!! the only thing better than a nice Chevy/GMC truck......is a nice GM muscle car!!!:D

Rattler 07-18-2010 07:01 PM

Very nice! They are excellent vehicles! I've had my 1995 for about 8 years now. I don't drive it much anymore, but I take it wheeling a lot and can not part with it. If you've got any questions about it feel free to ask. And don't buy a over the shelf chip. A custom tune works much much better and the price is right. This guy has great service and some very good tuning information on his site. http://www.tbichips.com
