Instead of waiting until the winter to start my project, I started it this past spring. I was just going to pull the engine out, fix an oil leak, repaint the engine, and touch up the engine compartment. You can tell by the pics that things got kinda blown out of proportion. More pics to follow...:DAttachment 904

Looks like some serious work Brian. Hate to tell you this but you don't need to pull the whole frontend off to take out the engine. :D

How's it going? Is that how it sits now?

RBeckman 10-11-2010 03:07 PM

Brian, Can I ask what the drain pipe is under the engine? Is that how you fixed the oil leak? Please explain how that works...lol

Actually, I didn't. I pulled then engine before I pulled the front end off. I took the engine out and started to strip the paint off the frame. Then my good ol friend Dan comes over and said, why don't you take the front fenders off and take them to my shop. Before I know it, I'm down to just frame rails. :D

The car is finally done, but I thought I'd post some before, during and after shots. I kinda forgot to post the before shots, but you already saw it last year at frankenmuth.:D

Definitely cheaper than buying a set from Summit or Jegs. Have you tried them yet? Just wondering how the PVC holds up to the exhaust temps.

I didn't take enough pics to show everything I did during this project. I removed the upper and lower "a-arms" , sandblasted, repainted, and replaced the original bushings with Polygraphite bushings.
I repainted the firewall and frame rails with "SEMS" trim black. The a-arms were painted with Eastwoods chassis black. I installed a set of 1.5" drop springs by Classic performance parts along with a pair of KYB gas Adjust shocks. All of the steering linkage was replaced as well. I wish I would've takin more pics.

My friend Dan is applying an apoxy based primer to the engine.
