I think Im gonna like it when its done .

I like the stance. Paint looks great, but the stance looks real stout. It is all in how those rear meats are spaced. Very nice.

Hey thanks! I do like the old school Centerline Auto Drags on a GM A body. I don't however care for the 3.5" fronts. I would rather have 7" front wheels. The rear are 10" with 275/60/15 BFG Drag Radials. I've got a long way to with this car, but it has come along way as well. Hasn't been on the road in 20 years.

I have an engine problem though. But I'll save it for the propper place in the forum. It's to the tune of "which one". I have three.

Paint looks great, looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Looks great. Cant wait to see mine in that stage. Are the stripes silver or white? Hard to determine from the picture.

looks good so far, love the stance! I wish I could get my body work up to your stage

Silver frost stripes. They look white from a distance. They really POP on that black!

Thank you. Yes I'm still a fan of the old school stance myself. I do like the way the modern lowered big wheel combos look on an A body, but...I still like Crager SS wheel, Centerline Auto Drags, etc... Just hard to get rid of my Centerlines. I do want 7" front wheels though.

7" wheels in front would look right. I agree.

Looks great! Did you paint this in the garage behind it?

Ms Grumpy 01-08-2011 07:38 PM

I am another one that likes the stance. The paint looks nice. Can't wait until it's done.

Supspt454 01-08-2011 10:39 PM

Thanks again to everyone!

I had a 79 El Camino when I was in college and it had centerlines. I had 15x7 fronts and 15x8 rears with BF Goodrich radials. With the air shocks in the back. I loved the way that thing sat!

I have had many "conversations" with David on the stance of my car. He wants it lower and I like it to sit a little beefy.

Berg 01-12-2011 09:31 AM

Leave it where it is, it keeps the exhaust from getting all banged up too. I like being able to drive over the apron at a gas station without getting any damage to the vehicle. I'm a truck guy at heart but don't worry. You won't see my Chevelle up in the air on a 4x4 truck frame!

They don't hang from the rear bumper, do they?:D

flash 01-16-2011 10:08 PM

Balls hanging from bumpers is just WRONG in every way possible .

Supspt454 01-22-2011 08:42 PM

You people crack me up! Got my fenders, fender ext, grill, rear marker bezels, and inner window pillers today from paint. All I am waiting on now is the front and rear bumper filler panels. Now to start on the engine and trans. Its going to be interesting...
