Triple By-pass anyone?

That's what we had for dinner. Prime rib roast, baked potato with lot's of butter and asiago cheese bread, with butter of course. I was good though, I did have some salad..... with ranch dressing and cheese. :o

As long as you don't do that every day you should be OK! A buddy just had a quadruple bypass and is into grazing now. We'll see how long it lasts. Back in 1968 he sat across the table from me as we downed one of those 72oz. stakes in Amrillo, TX. 42 minutes for me and 43 for him and he's half my size!

I couldn't and wouldn't want to eat like that everyday. I like variety, all kinds of food.

grumpy 01-02-2010 08:30 AM

Sounds like you had and awesome meal.

It's become a New Year's tradition for us. Turkey or ham for the other holidays, prime rib for New Year's.

BillsCamino 01-02-2010 09:29 AM

Prime rib and lobster for us on New Year's eve.
And I even had a shot of Jeger...:o

grandsport 01-02-2010 09:32 AM

That sound's even better, I love lobster. We usually do the prime rib on New Year's eve, my wife wanted to wait until New Year's day this year. We did have shrimp and cocktail sauce as an appetizer.

That must be a regional thing Gary.
I've got a bro-in-law that lives down here but is originally from just north of Pittsburgh (Butler) and they always do the same hot dog/sauerkraut menu for New Year's.

Supposed to bring good luck for the year. My wife said one of these years it has to work.:)

You guys are eating way high up on the hog.
We had the usual black eyed peas, greens, taters, and ham.
My wife can tell you what each is supposed to do for the new year.
I have eaten lots of greens but the greenbacks don't seem to come my way.
Must be the wrong kind of greens.

We did the 7 fishes on Christmas eve with our kids, prime rib meal on Christmas with the extended family, lobster and filet mignon on New Year's eve for just JoAnn and me here alone and pork roast and sauerkraut on New Year's day with the family. Everything was prepared here.

I started the diet today. :(

Actually I think that would be high up on the steer. :)

Not really, just my wife, son and I, no company. A really nice dinner for 3 people for around $20.

grumpy 01-04-2010 06:03 PM

We did lasagna over the holidays. Not my favorite but the kids sure love it.

Prime rib sounds much yummier

We did a couple big sirloins on New Years Eve. I know, most of you guys would prefer the tastier prime rib over a sirloin, but I go for the very low fat content of sirloin. I can make any cut of beef tasty, but I cant make them all healthier. Sirloin is one of the least offending cuts.

We had Chinese delivered New Years Eve. I can really do with out red meats, take it or leave it. Usally get a shrimp dish when eating Chinese, like to be sure. Meow.:)
