Matt I love the wagon. grumpy and I have been talking about wanting a wagon. I know that he really likes the earlier ones. But I am kinda partial to the '72. It would be nice to have a set of '72s.
Welcome to the site. |
I would love to have a 72 wagon to go with my 72 Malibu vert ,72 SS El Camino and my 72 Chevy truck ,but the 55 would have to sell first or Joans 81 Trans Am (that aint happening ) .

This is only the second Chevelle I have owned. 18 Years ago when I lived in Va. I owned a 72 307 Malibu coupe. I really liked that car a ton but I had to give it away. Had the cards stacked against me on that one, but that is another story. So the looks of the 72s have a special place for me.
Here's kind of cool thing. I kept the vintage 1972 Va. plates I got for my 72 back then. So because here in Az. We only have to have a rear plate so we can put what ever we want on the front. I put one of my 72 Va. plates on the front to give homage to my car I owned 18 years ago. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...n/IMG_1373.jpg Here are a couple of new pics I took today. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...n/IMG_1374.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...n/IMG_1375.jpg |
You can do some much to the wagons. I would love to have one for a tow vehicle.

Oh yea you can. I love these Chevelle wagons so much and wanted one for such a long time. A few years ago I wanted to build a model of one or two. So I started producing a 1/25th scale resin body of a 69 wagon just so I could build it. I have a side business that I make resin model car parts.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...llewagon-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...wagoninter.jpg Here is the one I am working on. Not a finished model, yet. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/IMG_0987.jpg Right now I am a little backed up on orders for these. Man it is a popular item for me. There are a lot of closet wagon lovers out there in the model car world. :D |
I think that it is cool that you kept the plate from the car you loved. And the model wagons are really cool !
|
What do you charge for one of those ? I love models too ,have a bunch of new unbuilt ones.
|
$27.00 for just the body. $40.00 for everything in the photos. That is the total shipped. I only do inside the U.S. Right now I am a bit backed up with orders of this kit. But you can contact me anytime if you want one. You will just need an AMY 69 Chevelle for the donor kit. You can use the AMT 68 El Camino that came out in the 90s. But it is a touch wider then the old AMT kits. So the front grill/bumper are a touch wide. This wagon master was made from an old 69 issue AMT ElCamino kit.

Put me in line for one of those if you will. I can send you payment whenever you need it.
Thanks John |

Hey All. I just found this photo. This is the reason for the 1972 Virginia plate on the front of my wagon. To pay tribute to this Chevelle I owned back in 93 when I lived in Va. I never got to register those plates for that car and I really was looking forward to doing that back then. I knew there was a reason why I kept them all of these years.

I think that is so cool that you have the pics. To bad they didn't have you in them, I love seeing pics of people in the 70's, and the creative cloths and hair.

Something about the dog dishes doesnt seem right .... were the centers painted? Keep in mind that so many elky parts interchange with the wagon when you look for fenders, etc .... same wheelbase/chassis also. Good lucK |
Yea, I am not liking the wheels very much. They were on it what I got it. I am starting a new job (After being out of work for close to 3 years) on Tuesday. So I hope to have some new wheels and tires on this very soon.
I have these 70s vintage 15x7 Ansen Sprints. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...amarowheel.jpg These are left over from my 71 Camaro project I sold. We custom painted them PPG toner black with a clear coat because they were very marked up and unfixable. So I body worked them and my buddy who paints hot rods for a living shot them. Then I had the pinstriper for his shop do the electric blue pinstripe by had. For a pizza. LOL! He is one of the top pinstripers in the west. I think he would have normally gotten about 2 to 5 hundred for that. There are some things I miss about working in a custom paint shop. They were working for me for my Camaro. It was going to be painted Petty Blue. Very close to the Grabber blue you see on the new Mustangs. That is why the Blue strip on the wheels. But I am not feeling it for my wagon. But they are the only wheels I have right now. I might be getting a set of 82-84 Z/28 Aluminum wheels and tires from a friend of mine that has them on his project as just rollers. He will be getting his wheels and tires for that car soon and will not be needing those. So he is going to let me have them. They might work on it. But either way. They will be better then these thin little 14s I have on it now. |
Those look like mid 80' S10 hub caps. Cool family hauler, a guy in the local car club has a gold 71'. I always walk by it and think, "Man that car is HUGE."

I have not post on this in quite a wile. Since the last reply I made. A lot has happened with the car. I had an engine problem back in Sept. So I have spent all of my extra money and more on getting a rebuilt engine and installed. I am almost done with it and should have it runnin gagain this week.
Here are a few pics I took last week. You can also see that I have replaced the marker light lenses. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...n/IMG_1565.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...0102121521.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...102121522a.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...0102121755.jpg I ended up selling those Ansen wheels. I got a pair of corvette ralley wheels for $70.00 with the rings and caps. I have been looking for another pair. but they are hard to find just 2 for a good price. So I am looking into getting 2 reproductions. I am going to put them on with BFG T/As. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...n/IMG_1491.jpg |
Looking good, I see the single Corvette wheels all the time at swap meets.
