For sale 55 Chevy

4 Attachment(s)
So I got this e-mail from Ms flash with the heading "Shane". I think that flash and the Mrs. name each car. and man would I love to have this car in my garage.

flash 11-07-2011 10:55 AM

Actually Shane is our nephew who first posted this car on Craigslist for me .The car does however have a name ,shes Old Blue .She really needs a good home where she will get driven and hopefully loved by someone .She just sits in her corner and patiently waits for her new owner.

Ms Grumpy 11-07-2011 10:58 AM

I can put this in the for sale forum if you would like.

Ms Grumpy 11-07-2011 10:59 AM

Man...I really wish I had the room. I have always wanted one of these.

SS Shaun 11-07-2011 11:17 AM

ask him if he would trade for my chevelle :)

flash 11-07-2011 11:40 AM

Ms Grumpy ,please do put it in the for sale area and right now the only trade Im interested in is cash as I need the room in my shop where the 55 is currently living.

Ms Grumpy 11-07-2011 07:16 PM

OK..it is moved flash. Now we just need some info and a sale price.

Rank 11-07-2011 08:09 PM

2-dr hardtop belair .... it doesnt get much better than that!

(Talk to us Flash!)

flash 11-08-2011 06:38 AM

It has all new suspension front and rear ,tubular control arms ,new power steering and new front power disc brakes ,new wiring harness front to rear ,new Iditit chrome tilt column w/new reproduction smaller steering wheel ,new shocks and the rear shocks have been taken off the body with a new part that I dont remember what its called. It has had a new stereo installed a few years ago .The wiper system has been replaced with an under dash unit .I replaced the radiator a few years a go as well .The interior is dated as its done in a blue velour type material ,needs new carpet as it had a floor shifter in it when I bought it and I hated it.It needs some floorpan work due to the shifter being removed and the previous owner didnt do the best job on the rest of the floor pan. Ive got about $30,000 in this car and Im done .Ive been asking $22,500 for it but the out the door price is currently $16,000 as it really needs to go to someone who will enjoy and finish it .I just have no time or interest in it anymore ,your thoughts welcomed .
John

Beautiful car Flash!

I wish I had room for it, but I can't be buying more cars until my Chevelle is back together. Good luck with the sale!

I am dying here....

That is a smokin' deal.....

flash 11-08-2011 11:01 AM

I have had lots of guys in the past year tell me that even with the work it needs to make it nice that its a great deal but nobody seems to be willing to turn loose of the cash . Someone out there needs this baby as bad as I want the space its taking up.I dont have to sell it but its foolish to keep paying insurance and upkeep on a car that never gets driven.Anyone who sends me a buyer gets a $500 finders fee.

fleming23 11-08-2011 01:12 PM

John, can't remember....is this car a 350 with a turbo 350?

Also, I have someone who showed a little interest but wanted to see more pictures. I know you guys don't get good internet up there in the sticks but if you have any way to get some more photos of the interior, motor, trunk, etc it would definitely help!!

flash 11-08-2011 01:34 PM

Eric ,it is 350/350 and send me your E Mail address and I can get some more pics .They will be coming from my wifes work as we still cant get Windstream to fix our internet.

RBeckman 11-08-2011 03:07 PM

Isn't it amazing what happens when your wife sends me things flash. I am hoping that you get a lot of interest. I have links to this forum on my Facebook page and the NOCC Facebook page.

I've contacted the BBB to file a complaint since the car just went off the 36,000 mile GM warranty not sure that they will accept the car is 39 years old though.

flash 11-08-2011 06:52 PM

It would be nice to see her go to someone to do her right ,just too many toys at my house .

It's worth a try. We are talking about a defective radio here.

BillsCamino 11-09-2011 07:36 AM

I've seen John's '55 in person if anyone is interested and needs further first hand info...

I just had another '55 210 (Red) leave my shop two weeks ago. Transmission replacement, brakes rebuilt, front seat recovered, new brake lines, radiator repaired, and a tune up.
Cool car too.

fleming23 11-09-2011 09:13 AM

Joan sent me a few more pictures I thought I'd post on here for you guys.

Well, I don't want to be hit with a law-suit over the clock not working, so I will give Ric a wind-up pocket watch that I have here in the shop. The watch will look nice hanging from the mirror. He can put some black tape over the original non working clock and tell everyone that the car is a "special order, one off , custom time feature" car.

Nice 55 Flash. Good luck with the sale.

flash 11-13-2011 07:05 PM

Its getting some interest now that I have dropped the price but the price now is rock bottom .I stopped today to look at a truck for one of our foster boys and the guy asked me if I still had the 55 for sale and he wants to come see it. Someone had told him about it a while back but he didnt know where I lived or how to find me as he didnt know my name.We will see what happens but its just a matter of the right person seeing it.

Too late Tony, I have talked to 1800-CALL-SAM, 1800-CALL-LEE-FREE and the famous Jeffery Feiger law firm. They are all very intersted in the case and all said should get somewhere in the $800,000 to 1.5 Million for all of Emotional duress that I have been through with the clock not working. But the wind-up watch is very temping offer, maybe if you throw in a piece of velcro in so it will cover the OEM clock I will call of the lawyers.

I took the Camaro out yesterday and put about 50 miles on it with a full tank and some sea-foam in the gas tank and it is running better....

Flash, the 55 would make a cool gasser.

Just think Ric, after all is said and done, and the attorney's take their fees. You might have enough left over to buy your own velcro.

flash 11-17-2011 01:36 PM

I got a bunch of velcro I can send him some for free .........................

Ms Grumpy 12-26-2011 08:27 PM

So what is the update on the Truck flash. I am sending the info to a friend of mine who has shown some interest.

flash 12-26-2011 08:41 PM

The truck is still sitting in its corner of the bodyshop awaiting its turn. Hopefully they will get started on it again real soon. They are doing as much insurance work as they can get as that is wtat they make their money on.

flash 01-04-2012 06:19 PM

It seems nobody wants my 55 Chevy yet ,just thought I would bring it TTT .

Tried to see if there was any interest down this way and everyone thought it looked good but nothing serious.

flash 01-12-2012 08:27 PM

bttttttttttttttt

Ms Grumpy 01-12-2012 10:24 PM

Same here. I have been talking it up and it just seems like people are keeping their purse string really tight. We won't give up til you have it sold.

flash 01-15-2012 08:42 PM

Still for sale ,someone come get her.

69chevelless 01-15-2012 09:44 PM

What's the engine, trans and price?

flash 01-15-2012 10:05 PM

Engine is 350 with 350 trans and price is currently $16,000 .I have over 30,000 in it and just never drive it .I really need the room in my shop more than I need this car as My 72 Chevy truck will be coming home someday from a frameoff restomodification and it needs an indoor parking spot.

Ms Grumpy 01-16-2012 04:00 PM

flash, did you every put it on Craigs list ?

flash 01-16-2012 04:17 PM

My nephew posted it on Craigslist a long time a go and all I got was people wanting to trade land ,streetrods ,or duplexes for it .I also started getting responses from inappropriate web sites listed as a response from my add so I had him take it down.

flash 01-27-2012 08:39 AM

Still for sale ,have a guy coming today to look at it ,maybe he will give her a good home.
