Chevellabration 12

Who plans to be there ? If you are going you really need to get your registration in soon .There are currently only a few over 100 registered cars which is a pretty low number for an event of that size ,we need to get the numbers up if we want to see future Chevellabrations .

Ms Grumpy 05-13-2012 06:43 PM

Unfortunately I am not going. It is a long trip and my sister is getting married that weekend. One other thing... I am making the wedding cake so I really need to be here.

It is a great time and I hope that if anyone is able to, that they attend Chevellabration.

grumpy 05-18-2012 03:34 AM

I really did want to go. Much rather be there then another wedding :)

But the heat and walking were so hard on me last year...

Ms Grumpy 05-18-2012 08:16 PM

For grumpy, he needs to have access to a golf cart. And unfortunately we were told last year that we couldn't use one. It is just hard and actually dangerous for grumpy on the uneven grass, don't need him to fall and mess his neck and back up any more. I will miss Chevellabration.

flash 05-18-2012 09:51 PM

We will miss you too ,but hopefully you will be at Ohio .

Ms Grumpy 05-19-2012 09:41 PM

Oh yes we will be. I am still trying to figure out our sponsorship budget. I need to make my hotel reservations, kids can't wait to go. They spent 3 days in the pool.

Ms Grumpy 06-05-2012 05:33 PM

So who is going to Chevellabration ?

Looks like the only hotel we can find will be a few miles away from Moss Wright Park. We are hoping to leave about 4am on Saturday and get in Saturday about noon.

flash 06-05-2012 06:02 PM

We are staying at Days Inn on Conference Drive (615-851-6600) ,dont know if they are booked up yet .Same place we always stay ,just above ground zero where Heart Of Dixie cooks up their cajun food. Cant wait to see everyone that can make it, we are heading up thursday morning.

BillsCamino 06-05-2012 08:31 PM

We at the Holiday Inn Express this year...can't deal with the room prices at the Best Western. Not worth what their asking...
This is our 13th year attending...probably stayed at most of the hotels in that area at one time or another.

flash 06-05-2012 10:14 PM

We have stayed in several different ones but this one we like and the rate is around $59 per night.

Ms Grumpy 06-06-2012 01:33 AM

Got a room at the Courtyard by Marriott. It wasn't really bad for last minute. The room rate was $139.00 with a king bed and a sleeper sofa. We are bringing my son Jacob, he was at Chevellabration last year and loved it. So I figure for the 3 of us the price isn't bad and bonus it is a lot closer than some of the other hotels that actually had rooms. Is something else going on that weekend ?

flash 06-06-2012 06:17 AM

There is some kind of country music thing going on .

fleming23 06-06-2012 06:23 AM

Bonnaroo Music Festival (June 7th - 10th) draws people from around the country and creates all sorts of traffic if you come through at the wrong time.

flash 06-06-2012 08:34 AM

Last year they had the Bonaroo traffic pretty well under control when we went through there ,hope for the same this year but then again we were there early.

Oh no, not Bonaroo.... So I guess our 8 hour drive will now be 10-12. We plan on leaving early Sat. morning, but that puts us near Goodletsville, if all goes well, around 12. Let's just hope that all the Bonaroo'ers are already there. I know last year we were there early and only saw a few cars on the road. I bought a new GPS yesterday, so I hope it helps us avoid traffic.

fleming23 06-06-2012 12:59 PM

I think Bonnaroo only affects those coming from the South as you pass it on the way north to the Park.

Could be wrong though and am feeling too lazy to google the map.

Ms Grumpy 06-06-2012 05:29 PM

We come from the north and saw probably about 20 cars last year, but we were there early. Been keeping up with Mark, from the Ohio Club, He should be in Goodletsville by now.

I have been wondering if my registration made it there on time. I have been watching the P.O. Box to see if my check was returned. I didn't want to bother Chuck, I figured he had enough going on this week. Well I got my answer today. We to the P.O. Box, and there it was. A postcard stating that my registration number was in the 180's. Does that mean that there are about 180-200 cars registered ? Do you know flash ?

fleming23 06-06-2012 06:44 PM

180 isn't as bad as it was seeming initially but still quite low! Speaking of, where the heck did I place that little blue card???? Probably would have forgot it at home had I not read this!

Ms Grumpy 06-06-2012 07:40 PM

Glad to be of some help. Eric, I will be hanging out with the guys from the Ohio Club. Mark has been kind enough to offer me some space for my chairs under his canopy. I will probably wear a Woodward Dream Cruise, or Detroit Dragway shirt. So hopefully we will be able to find each other. Or just look for flash and his Mrs. they are usually selling the raffle tickets and they would be able to tell you where I am.

flash 06-06-2012 10:47 PM

Who me ,I dont know them people . You could not have picked a better bunch to hang out with though ,those guys from Ohio are great and we are looking forward to seeing them as well as everyone else .It will be a family reunion again. Eric ,I will gladly point you to the Grumpy's ,great folks and better friends you wont find. Ms Grumpy ,I have a little something for you ,just remind me if I forget ,that old age thing you know ,I cant remember nothing.

Chevelle_Nut 06-08-2012 08:04 PM

Didn't get any photos of drag racing as I was busy taking my car down the track.

Did go to autocross and take photos though

Are you serious about the peoples choice award?

flash 06-10-2012 09:24 PM

That was a cool car but too modified for my taste but I would love to drive it just once. I think what impressed most was the attention to detail and the twin turbo's ,it was very well done.

People seem to like the modified cars verses the stock ones.

Sometimes I think it is "how many friends" are at the show that will vote for you.

I was glad to see that Mark from the NOCC won with his car. Great guy with a nice car.

Ms Grumpy 06-26-2012 09:27 PM
