Die Cast Cars / Any Collectors

I collect what interests me depending on my mood at the time but just found a 1/64 scale red 70 Chevelle with the Woodward Dreamcruise Logo on it for around $13 + shipping and I could not resist .

I have a few that I have bought recently, mostly have Hot Wheels, Matchbox, and Green Light cars. They take up less space. ;)

I have about 300 1/24 scale dealer promotional models, starting from the late 60s to the early 90s. Probably should sell the things.

Derek69SS 09-26-2012 08:03 PM

I have about 20 1/18 Chevelles, and a boatload of Ford Tractors

Not a collector but I do have 1 Hallmark 70 SS Christmas tree ornament and one 70 SS model my son put together for me a few years ago. He also painted the wall in the back of the garage to look like my 70 SS trunk. Champagne Gold with black SS strips. Strips are to scale and nicely shaped. Then he painted the edge of the shelve below it with chrome paint so it looks like the top edge of the bumper.

How about a picture of the garage wall. Sounds cool.

I have a few cars, one that matches my car and a red exact detail convertable that cost me about $100 when I bought it 5 years ago.

I should take a picture of the wall. Supposed to be nice tomorrow, rained today, I'll pull the Chevelle out and get a picture.

I too would love to see the garage wall as well as any collection anyone would like to share .I have so many toys of various sizes I really dont even know what nor how many I have as well as many models I have built over the years as well as about 100 models not put together .I have a lot of Hot Wheels hanging on my shop walls as well as some stored in containers .I make Christmas Tree ornaments out of Hot Wheels to give to friends and I also let the foster boys pick from my favorite Hot Wheels hanging on my shop walls for them to take home .I prefer to let them have my favorite ones and then I get more .

I don't have shelves up yet in the new place, but will post some pics when I get everything out of the boxes they're in. :)

WavingWell, not a great colector here, but like those litle stuff.
Have three or four VW Beetles, two or three Chevy BelAir's (57 and my faroryte, the 55).
Concerning to Chevelle, one Hot Wheels 69, two Greenlights SS 68 (one black, one white), one 1/18 SS 396 68 (Whellie) and one 1/24 SS 396 in black.
LOVE them....Waving

Here are few shots of the wall. My car is a factory two-tone, champagne gold, black strips and white top. The chrome trim at the top of the gold on the wall is the two-tone/vinyl top chrome strip. Chrome on the edge of the shelve is the top of the bumper. Below that is a bunch of junk. Guess I could have removed the pictures and signs and the 30 qts of oil from the shelf but you get the idea. Besides I did remove all the rest of the stuff on the shelf. I need to get is butt back out there and have him finish the outlet cover.

I have one less die cast as of today as I gave our youngest foster boy a Chevy stepside truck ,he is a Ford guy so I just had to give him a Chevy .Although he loves our Chevelle and El Camino .He also likes my old 74 Chevy truck now that he knows how to drive a 3 on the tree .He had never even seen a truck with 3 on the tree before this one .

Nice job by your son on the back wall.

I used to collect. At my peak I had almost 1,000 cars from 1:64th up to 1:18th. I think I'm down to less than 200 now. I've been using them as money here lately since the paper in my wallet doesn't seem to be as valuable as it used to be. I just traded 20 die cast for a solid front axle, steering and suspension for a 1916 C-Cab delivery I'm building.

Here's what's on display around the house.

Nice collection!

I have a few of the same ones, such as the 4 American Graffiti cars, the blue '69 Chevelle, and the Arnie Beswick '69 "Super Judge". My Arnie Beswick car is autographed,

shadowgray396 10-02-2012 09:59 PM

Yea, but you have a beach house. Which is pretty much all new now.

You guys have some pretty nice collections. Wish I had the space for some of them.

I finally got around to snapping some pictures... hung the shelves a couple months ago. Here's my die-cast Chevelles, model cars, some Model T stuff, and part of my tractor collection.

I put this case behind the bar with my American Graffiti cars, models, and hotwheels.

I'm picking up a '79 Ford wrecker in February. It's a twin boom with a 429 in it. ...I can't wait! :D I'm tired of lugging ramps around with the trailer. I'm a huge fan of the dentside Ford trucks, I think this will be a cool addition to the fleet.
