Whooooo hooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!
The 1970 Elco 4six3 CI BBC chevy is alive and running beautifully!!!!!!!!! 8 years in the making!!!
My six is broken. lol |
I've never owned a car 8 years, let alone working on it that long. You must be very patient elcoman. Congrats.
|
About 8 years ago some B&*#@ crashed into my Elco while it was parked. I had the elco from 91 until '02.:( I had installed my first motor built by me. It was the first BBC I had ever put in it. I got to drive it less than 2 months before it was totaled.
I found this one at a gas station/garage. I bought it for $500. It had a crappy 305/7000r4 combo. It had wood screws holding things together. I was too hard headed to drive it like that after driving my other Elco with a BBC. So I rebuilt the suspension and motor. I swapped my old disc brakes on this one. This one does have a 12 bolt, so I got something in the deal, but I want my 8 years back.:( Thanks Gary!Waving I have little patience, the guy that did my driveshaft hates me. He was a jerk anyway. The driveshaft does look pretty. |
Congrats! elcoman. I know your face looks like this :)
Now get out that and repave that road in front of your house. :) Mine sat for many years also. I drove it with a step stool in it after getting everything done except the interior. LOL Gary, Wow, you've never owned a car more than 8 years? Newby to muscle cars? just started liking them? or get bored and have to have something new every few year? Oh, you also make a great "official chevelleforum greeter". No doubt. No one can fill your shoes. |
I got to register and insure the Elco first.
|
Congratulations, Jay! Nothing like hearing those ponies come to life for the first time!

Thanks everyone!
I am excited about going to the Dept of Motor Vehicles tomorrow. |
Thats awesome Jay, congrats on 8 years of waiting and getting it going again. We all want to see the video, but I think we will all understand if you are busy pounding miles onto it before you get that video posted. As a matter of fact I think I would be a bit disappointed if you wasted perfectly good big block driving time to post a video!!

Congratulations! Pictures ASAP....
|
I couldnt sleep last night, I am finally awake. I have to run some errands then I will try to post a vid.
|
Where is the vid Jay??? Would like to see that new motor rumbling.....
|
Congrats Jay....
|
Thanks Seb!Waving
I am going to make a video today. I have been messing around with the tune-up on the car and school started this week. I have to find a tranny leak and power steering leak. :( The little stuff is not so bad, compared to the work of getting it running. |
Oh yeah you gotta show her to us. 8 years is a long time coming and I bet worth every second.
|
I am logging off the internet to make a vid.:)
|
Oh crap...I can't see it here at work...will have to wait until I get home. :(
Been married 37+ years, lived in the same house for 23+ years, worked at the same place for almost 22 years, BUT have NEVER owned any vehicle for longer than 4 years. :) |
Dang Bill,
Looks like you have the wife, house, and job you want. Must not have found the right car yet? :D I've been married, lived in the same house, and owned the 67 for 25 years. I have worked this job the longest, 10 years, and would change but I'm too damn old to change now. :-( |
|
Very cool!!!!!!!!!!
|
Nice job, Jay! Sounds very healthy!!
