My 71 "Plain Jane" Chevelle Malibu

It's not an SS but who cares. It's a "Plain Jane" 71 Chevelle Malibu. But under the hood sits a nasty sounding 396 hooked to a 4speed and 12bolt rear end with A/C to boot. Already put the wheel and tire set-up on it and now working on detailing it out for next season.

There's nothing "plain" about that car! Nice!

I'd be interested in finding the build sheet. I'll bet you could've ordered the "power bulge" hood with the Malibu trim. You have a stunning car there.

Great looking Malibu and your selection of tires and wheels make it even better. With that 396, 4 Speed and 12 bolt, you'll have as much fun as if it were an SS. I like it!

I would take a "plain Jane" like that ANY DAY !!! You have a beautiful car.

Thanks the car is not gold but is a stock color for a 71 it's Cottonwood Green. My last old Muscle Car was a base 69 Camaro that my friend used to try to get to me by telling me it was just a "Plain Jane" (not an RS or SS). That name stuck with me and I have to admit in my younger day it had to say SS or I wouldn't buy it but I've come to the realization that even a "Plain Jane" can be turned into something nice.

I have to agree with the fact that a "Plain Jane" can be turned into something. I am happy that I have a "plain Jane" also, there are too make fake "SS's" out there. So many people are being scammed.

When I bought my Camaro I could have easily put SS emblems on it but I really liked the look of the blue Bowtie on both the front and back. I would rather have a built up "Plain Jane" than a fake SS.

I like your thinking.
