2014 Northern Regional Chevelle Show - Ohio

Just a quick start to this thread…. The Northern Ohio Chevelle Club is proud to announce the 2014 Northern Regional Chevelle Show. The show will be August 1st and 2nd, 2014 at the Strongsville Holiday Inn. Our theme this year will be Chevelle-o-ween. So get out there and buy up those Halloween decorations that are on sale right now. The WIXY 1260 Band will entertain us again on Friday night and we plan on having a Freaker’s Ball. We will also host a Trick or Trunk evening. Dress up yourself, your Chevelle, make haunted walks through your Trailers….. Who knows what everyone will dream up….. We will be limiting the show field to the first 200 Chevelles to ensure our attendees have the best experience.

I'm really going to make an effort to fly down for the show this year. Cost ot much to bring the Chevelle down, but would really like to come and meet everyone.

flash 11-06-2013 09:07 PM

Ray ,you will not be disappointed ,its always a good time .

Ray, it is SOOOO worth the trip. I would send in a registration form even if you are not bringing your car. That way you could get into the banquet, it is such a blast !! Especially because everyone dresses up. Like flash said, you won't be disappointed.

Ms Grumpy 11-07-2013 08:30 PM

I called yesterday and made my room reservations. Last year I didn't reserve my rooms until after the 1st of the year. But after reading that they are limiting registration to the first 200 cars I figured I better get mine in. And since I need 3 rooms at the hotel, between David, me and the kids, I knew I didn't want to wait.

When I booked my rooms, the man at the Holiday Inn said that he had booked at least 10 rooms in the past couple days. So if you are even Thinking about going, call and reserve a room, you can always cancell it. You definately want to stay at the Holiday Inn, cause when it gets dark, thats when all the good stuff happens. lol

I also texted my brother and asked him if he would be interested in going again next year with us, his response....Hell yes ! He made a comment that if he had to take off time from work, then he would use the excuse that it was a "Family Reunion". You know what, that is how I feel. I get to see some amazing people and their cars at least once a year. Hope to see everyone there.

flash 11-07-2013 09:05 PM

We are a very strange family ,will be even stranger this year ,cant wait.

72convertible 11-08-2013 06:38 AM

Ms Grumpy 11-09-2013 07:06 PM

flash 11-09-2013 07:49 PM

shadowgray396 11-10-2013 11:27 AM

Wonder if I fly back if they would let me attend the awards dinner and get a tee shirt, even though I'm bringing a car?

flash 11-10-2013 12:14 PM

Just enter your car without bringing it .

I've done that a couple times over the years...registered a Chevelle but simply flew into CLE and took the Holiday Inn hotel shuttle to the show field. ;)
This hotel serves as a crash pad for airline personnel so the shuttle runs 24 hrs and is free.

flash 11-10-2013 09:25 PM

Mark ,we got the e mail today .

Very true, I have seen the shuttle many, many times. And if really think about it, the room rates are only $82. That is pretty cheap, if you plan on spending the night. I would reserve a room ASAP if possible.

Ms Grumpy 11-24-2013 08:26 PM

I got my confirmation e-mail a couple weeks ago.

I was just wondering if you have had a lot of cars already register and if there were a lot of rooms left at the hotel.

72convertible 12-03-2013 02:27 PM

We have about 21 Chevelles registered for the show and about 60 rooms booked at the Holiday Inn. In total we have 176 room nights booked. I think a lot of people are planning on coming in a day early this year. I plan on putting together a list of places people might want to visit in the area.

Places that come to mind quickly that are within a 20-40 minute drive from the hotel are Rock n Roll Hall of Fame & Summit Racing. We are also working on details for a race night at Dragway 42.

flash 12-03-2013 05:54 PM

We went to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame as a group the first year we went and that was cool as Rob Mirable did burnouts in front of the Hall and told everyone its OK Im a cop .We got photo opps right in front of the Hall as well .That was a good time ,it was also the first time I had ever been to Summit Racing even though we had on here in Ga .

Ms Grumpy 12-05-2013 09:04 AM

As long as Dragway 42 doesn't have the kind of road we had to take when we went to the track at Chevellabration. I just remember the roads that were pretty scary, they just dropped right off the edge.

Remember...this track is in Ohio, NOT TN.
Flat as...well, you fill in the rest. ;)

I have been following the NOCC on Facebook. Looks like there is still room in the show for cars, but the hotel is filling up quickly. If you haven't booked your room, you should book them now !!! Don't wait or they will be gone.

As of today - We have 103 registered Chevelles for the show. I am really excited about eight 1964 Chevelles there to celebrate the 50th birthday of the Chevelle. We will be displaying one of our members 1964 Chevelle in the Hotel Lobby. I will get the rest of the 64's set up for a special display of some how ( not sure what we will do yet )

We also have over 30 1969 Chevelles signed up for the show. Dan Vasic is trying to get a nice display of 1969 post Chevelles.

Only 4 months to go and only 200 spots available - Let's get going before you get shut out!

flash 05-09-2014 09:57 PM

Not getting many updates anymore from Mark since they are doing mostly Facebook updates and not on the forums anymore ,I sure miss it .

Ms Grumpy 05-09-2014 10:24 PM

I will ask for an update.

72convertible 05-10-2014 06:55 AM

Sorry for not keeping you guys up to date. We have about 110 chevelles registered for the show. That's way ahead of other years at this point and time. We have already met our quota for the holiday inn, it's basically sold out. You might be able to get a room if you are a holiday inn rewards member. We sold 127 rooms and 355 rooms nights. We will be posting phone numbers for the red roof inn (right next door) and other area hotels soon.

Planning is going well and the club is strong. I highly suggest you send in your registration ASAP, I sincerely doubt we will be taking day of show registrations.

Out newest addition to the show will be trunk or treat to go with our theme of Chevelloween. The wixy 1260 band is also gearing up for what joe calls a freakers ball. Dress your trailer up, dress your chevelle up, and dress yourself up, it's Halloween in August. Questions???
