WOW my neighbor from hell!

So on Friday we had a major rain storm i mean major. so with all that rain caused one of my trees went down. I couldn't do much because of all the rain. So yesterday I went to get a chain saw and went to work. Rewind about 3 weeks my neighbor has not cut his grass in some areas in years i mean 7 or 8 years. So i had a friend come over and level part of my yard and a big part of his yard. Now i can cut it with no issues and today for the first time he was cutting the grass that was great.

No lets go back to today. I am cutting and chipping all the wood. doing everything the right way and trying to get it all the way down to so its like mulch. So he comes up to me today and says
"what are you going to do with all this?"
I said "well i have to wait a few dry days so I can cut up the rest and burn it"
he said "I am giving you 1 week to get all this stuff of my property"
I just looked at him and said what is on your property?
all the brush and some twigs that came off something that my ride on mower would just suck up and go.

I have done so much to help clean his areas because he works 2 states away in NYC and i know he is not home. So I cut the grass and trim what ever wild branches that grow over and go from there. and today he turned around and completely flipped on me then his wife comes out and said "i need to respect my elders"
I couldn't believe my ears so he is going to give me one week to get the stump off his land. I am in complete disbelief that he is acting like this when i just told him i need it to dry so i can get my chain saw on it ! my head hurts i just needed to rant sorry

:beer::beer:

I have a neighbor like that but she is in her late 80's so when she complains I just smile and walk away.

SS Shaun 05-18-2014 09:13 PM

i walked away from him and then his wife wants to run up like she was going to hit me. My wife came over and spoke to her claim but she didn't want to stop. I was ready to call the cop. it was insane!!!

Ms Grumpy 05-18-2014 10:08 PM

Unbelievable. I would just leave the stuff there until it drys out. Doesn't sound like there is much you can do with it now anyway.

FlintTony 05-19-2014 04:54 AM

Check your local law about trees falling on someone else's property. Here in Michigan, if my tree falls on a neighbors property, it is HIS responsibility to remove it. If that is the case where you live, that SOB would be cleaning his own property up. Even if that isn't the law, what is he going to do? File a law suit against you? I doubt it. He is just an asshole, same as his wife. Leave everything on his property. You already made an effort to be the good neighbor. Now show him what a bad neighbor you can be.

chevymaher 05-19-2014 05:32 AM

In ky if a tree falls it is the responsibility of the tree owner. Home owners insurance covers it. Ask me how I know.
When my chevelle first came home so long long ago I had another house. Tornado knocked a tree down from a neighbor's yard. Yes you guessed it. I came home one night and there was a tree laying on the roof of the chevelle. Missed my POS voyager van and hit the car.
Anyway I went and told him. He came over and we cut it up. He hauled it off. I helped cut and load.
That car has been through alot. There are reasons it took me 10 years to get this far.

shadowgray396 05-19-2014 08:59 AM

Nice neighbor, I agree walk away.

that is exactly what i wanted to do. I just wanted it to dry out for a few days so i can remove as much dirt from the roots and begin to cut it up and chip it.

Just found out that is the law in PA also if it falls its the owner of where it fell responsibility to deal with it

yeah i am done with him i will never lift a finger to help him again

Ms Grumpy 05-19-2014 08:51 PM

It is so sad when a neighbor doesn't appreciate another neighbor when they are trying to be nice.

SS Shaun 05-19-2014 09:36 PM

so i get home and my wife is holding a letter in her hand. I have not read it yet but it was an apology letter from them. I think he realized how much he is going to have to mow now

FlintTony 05-20-2014 04:57 AM

If it is an apology, he most likely found out the same thing that you did. Now he's thinkin "damn, now I gotta clean the mess up". Leave it for him and his smugg-ass wife.

SS Shaun 05-20-2014 01:22 PM

lol yup that is exactly what it is. I did it for 7 years now that i am going to stop i am going to leave him a lot of work with his little 21 push mower vs my 42inch ride on. i am not going to touch it. Plus i was watering the spot that i leveled out and put fresh grass seeds and everything but now its an issue screw him..lol

Gotta love people like that. I've had my fair share of crappy neighbors. Ignorance runs rampant in society these days. Most of my disagreements have been over people letting their animals run loose and destroy my property. Had one woman threaten to shoot me - she about shit her pants when I walked up to the fence with my Glock and asked her to repeat herself.

Love it !!

SS Shaun 05-20-2014 09:11 PM

LOL that is great!!!

flash 05-20-2014 09:32 PM

I am thankful for my neighbors ,most are great and the one old lady is just a little crazy ,but really harmless ,she just needs a few dozen less cats ,Im helping with that when I can . Even though she does not like me I try to keep an eye out when she is out and about as I dont want her to fall and hurt herself and she gets out and push mows her lawn in the hottest part of the day ,dont want her to get heat stroke ,she is in her 80's .

carpoor 05-20-2014 09:53 PM

I didn't point it at her, but it was in my hand and clearly visible. If she had threatened to call the police, I would have been sure to give her a one-finger wave and let her know I was within my rights... on my own property.

An interesting nugget - nearly two thirds of all new concealed carry permit applicants are women. Something to ponder... ;)

Speed metal on my home sound system at 3 in the morning.

oldguy64malibu 06-09-2014 03:09 PM

Having good neighbors is just Luck of the Draw. And, this is why God invented alcohol. Sounds like nobody will be weeping over his grave site.

Ms Grumpy 06-09-2014 08:38 PM

I guess I am lucky because most of my neighbors didn't talk to me for a long time after they moved in. I have renters on one side of me and they have little kids, I talk to the kids more than the adults. Their son loves my car but he won't go near it. He says it scares him when it is noisey.

The ones behind me bought their home right before winter and put up this big fence, which I don't care for neither do any of the other neighbors. But in the winter time I had my kids shovel and snowblow their sidewalks because they had a baby. Not even a thank you. I was teaching my kids that neighbors take care of neighbors but this couple think they are better than everyone else. I can't wait until they need some help.

Hank70SS 06-11-2014 07:10 AM

We're pretty lucky. No fences around here so all the yards run together but we've got good neighbors all around us. No issues with anyone and everybody is really friendly. The yards around are all an acre plus, I think that has something to do with it. The closer people are packed together the more rude and intolerant of others they become. Where are the rudest people in this country? New York, Chicago, etc. Go to smaller towns and people are a lot nicer.

SS Shaun 06-11-2014 10:31 AM

i am in a small town that is the funny part. These people are from NYC and man do they have a chip on there shoulders, but now they see how much i have done for them and i stopped doing it. now they are hurting to cut all that extra grass. I am about to do a formal complaint about the thorns and wild weeds he has in the back yard (since i am not cutting them anymore...lol)

Ms Grumpy 06-11-2014 08:11 PM

Your neighbor is now regreting causeing problems with you Shaun.

flash 06-11-2014 08:32 PM

A few weeks back my mailbox got destroyed by a young man who fell asleep at the wheel on his way home at about 4 AM one thursday morning and he finally landed in my old lady neighbors daughters yard where he hit 2 trees and totaled his truck. The young man came by and paid for my mailbox (I had gone to Home Depot for a new one) and installed it for me .He kept saying how sorry he was for the damage and I told him it was OK as it happens at least twice a year as we are in a bad curve and people underestimate it a lot .The old lady and her daughter are going after his insurance for all they can get even though it just scent the trees .I tried to tell him they were a little different ,Im just glad he wasnt hurt . So you are not the only one with them.

shadowgray396 06-11-2014 10:21 PM

Some people are like that Flash. Get everything they can. We had a neighbors car roll out of his driveway and hit a tree. Barely made a mark on the tree. The neighbor hired a arborist and then went after the guys insurance. They payed her $2000 for the damage to the tree, and the tree is still standing and you can't even tell anything happen to it now.

I thank the lord I have nice neighbors.
My house is on a corner lot...and my back yard faces an overgrown lot.
next door is a nice Brazilian lady that is easygoing.
across the street and to the right are empty lots.
and cattycorner is a guy that mows my yard on request for $20.
Its very quiet ...exept when I fire up the chevelle.

We're on a corner lot too. The side street only goes to a court with the house behind us and the 3 on the other side of the street. Neighbor on the back corner of the court has a 70 Chevelle too. So a little engine noise and squealing tires is not an issue. Rest of the neighbors are pretty cool, we're friends with all of them and never had a problem. As you said, thank the lord. We had some good neighbors in our previous houses but as it usually goes there's always a least one a-hole. Glad I don't have any fences and glad we don't need them.

grandsport 06-21-2014 06:50 PM

3 weekends ago my neighbor got a truckload of mulch .He worked all weekend spreading it ,well almost all of it.There is about 4 wheelbarrow loads covered in plastic with the wheelbarrow laying on top of it now.Really, how can one live like that?Take another hour and get it done:mad::mad:

Ms Grumpy 06-21-2014 08:48 PM

Maybe he is waiting for you to do it.
