BillsCamino 08-26-2015 07:39 AM

"Major Announcement" = Same location

flash 08-26-2015 11:20 AM

I was hoping for a change after this last mess.

BillsCamino 08-26-2015 11:57 AM

Gee, sorry I missed all that.
It must have been a real issue with that hotel John...the topic was still being brought up last weekend at the Heart of Dixie show.

Ms Grumpy 08-26-2015 12:02 PM

Come on guys. I personally know that the NOCC put in an extreme amount of hours making calls and going to hotels and talking to the sales staff. They were looking for the best deal for everyone.

David and I have done this with Audiokarma.org for years. Think about the costs involved with running an event like this. The hotel charges you for everything. The NOCC has a relationship with this hotel and they want to keep them so I am confident in their decision to stay.

Another thing that I think about is how many car shows have you been to where you can BBQ in the lot, have your parking spot saved for you if you leave and sit outside all night in your lawn chair with your cooler by your side ?

I am sure that Mark, Joe and the NOCC knew that they were not going to please everyone. But they knew that they wanted to have a show that continues to get better and that raises as much money as possible for the Toys for Tots program which is important to many of us.

I am hoping that the 2016 NOCC show will be better than ever.

flash 08-26-2015 05:17 PM

I know the 2016 show will be even better than this year ,and this years show was awesome thanks to NOCC ,BUT the hotel really sucked .And the banquet food ,what little there was of it sucked .I wish we could go to the banquet but bring our own food .

Ms Grumpy 08-26-2015 08:21 PM

I totally agree with you flash. Either that or just have pizza and salad and save the money that they charge for food that was really bad. Or like for us...was gone before we even got up to the buffet.

72convertible 09-22-2015 06:43 AM

This is from our Treasurer Kenny....
Greetings Cousins,

Chevelle-Rodeo 2016 Update:

I just checked with the Holiday Inn today. Our block of rooms has hit the 83% mark already, and that block of rooms was equal to what was booked for the 2015 show. If you're keeping score, we've had a 50% increase in bookings since I last reported about it, three weeks ago.

I've requested an increase to our block of rooms to stay ahead of the bookings.

Spread the word Cousins. Book those rooms early to insure that you get one.

It's official. True to their word, we'll have a cadre of Cousins arriving on Tuesday next year. NOCC is honored to know that people have so much fun at this event, some are showing up three days before the official beginning of the event. We thank those Cousins for their dedication to our show.

On another note, I know some of you are antsy about Registration & Sponsor forms. Please be patient. I have some legal stuff to do before those get finalized and released.

Ken Hayes 11-23-2015 06:43 PM

Already have the room reserved (Aug 26 2015) and today sent in my registration for the show.

flash 11-23-2015 08:17 PM

Ken ,where did you find show registration form ?

Ken Hayes 11-23-2015 08:44 PM

Tom Lasater posted it on The Chevelle Club of Michigan on Facebook. Its also on the NOCC Facebook page.

flash 11-23-2015 09:37 PM

Is there anyway you can post a copy as we dont do Facebook but would like to get our registration in ?

Ken Hayes 11-23-2015 10:10 PM

John, check your email.

Ken Hayes 11-23-2015 10:11 PM

I cant post the form as it says its too big of a file.

flash 11-24-2015 06:19 AM

Thanks Ken ,we can send it on in now .

An update on the hotel ( Holiday Inn Strongsville ) for the Chevelle Rodeo 2016. We've far surpassed our block of rooms used for for the 2015 show, and I have increased the block of rooms yet again.

The following number of rooms are available in our block:

8/3/16 13
8/4/16 22
8/5/16 21
8/6/16 28

Pass the word to those who may have not reserved their rooms yet. This hotel was sold out for the 2015 show by the end of February last year. Once the hotel fills up, I'll no longer be able to increase the block of rooms for the event.

shadowgray396 01-16-2016 12:35 PM

Wish it was not so far away to bring the car. May be just fly over for the weekend?

flash 01-16-2016 06:01 PM

Ray ,they have an airport shuttle service to and from the host hotel ,a lot of the pilots stay there .

2016 Rodeo

I do have a room at the Holiday Inn (Bunkhouse). I cannot find a gun holster to hold my six guns, All of the holsters that I have found only hold two guns.
I have to find a custom holster to hold at least six guns. I was checking on a Lone Ranger outfit, But when I got to the bank, The Loan Arranger was wearing a normal suit & tie.
Again WELCOME to the up and comming Wild West Show... Where the Men are MEN, and the sheep are nervous.
" Happy trails to you ,,,Untill we meet again"
Bob

flash 01-21-2016 06:10 PM

Bob ,as always looking forward to seeing you .

72convertible 01-28-2016 06:32 AM

Only about 10 more rooms available on Friday night at the Holiday Inn. Other nights have a few more rooms available. We have about 78 Chevelles registered for the show. By our estimation of hotel rooms....there are actually about 150 Chevelles in the works for the show.....We have a 200 Chevelle limit.

Thanks for your support - We are 8 months away and this show is already in good shape!

flash 01-28-2016 08:40 AM

My vacation days have been approved ,sorta .

NOCC Awards
People often ask me, what type of awards do you give away at the Northern Regional Chevelle Show in Ohio? First let me say that we love all Chevelles from the Daily Driver to the Perfectly Restored Trailer Queen. We love Race Car and Pro-Street Cars. This show is more about bringing the Chevelle community together and having fun. For those of you have never attended our show, the awards ceremony is a fast pace event filled with slap stick comedy, lots of prizes, an auction, and some trophies. We award the top 50 Chevelles, Malibu’s, or El Caminos picked by our participants. We have a top ten award for our Club cars judged by a new and different guest judge each year. Our philosophy is to give only one award out per participant, so if you win a special award you are taken out of the top 50 awards. Then we have special awards sponsored by many individuals for various categories. The only special award that Club Members are eligible for is the MCACN award. There are no points involved and final decisions for the awards are made by key members of the Northern Ohio Chevelle Club Show Committee.

Here are some of the special awards….
Best Chevelle sponsored by Dave Krespan
Marines Pick Award - Red Jacket sponsored by Sam Sanguinito
Hard Luck Award sponsored by the Chevelle Club of Michigan
Best Malibu sponsored by Dave Hambleton
Best El Camino sponsored by The Lorkowski Family
Jeff & Tracie Paulin sponsor several awards
Young Guns Award for car owners under 30 years old

Muscle Car and Corvette National Entry - NOCC Blue Jacket / Represent NOCC at MCACN
Best of Show Don Sitts Pick NOCC Red Jacket
Best Convertible / Bruce Bender Memorial Award – Mel Bender
Best Detail Award – sponsored by ???
Pick – sponsored by Tri State Chevelle
Pick – Rose Marchesi Memorial Award
Top 50 sponsored by O-Rielly’s and others TBD

We may add other awards based on sponsors. We will have a drawing for two piece roll around tool box that has been professionally pinstriped and a 40” Color LED TV. Each participant will receive a photo of their entry at the show with a special border showing the theme of the show and sponsors of the photo. Question???? Send me a PM and I will answer the best I can.

We are sitting at 180 entries and they are still coming in - You have until July 15th - then the price goes up $5. This is a rain or shine event - we have plenty to do - we sell the show out at 200! I am currently working on the parking lot layout. We will have the same basic layout as last year but the trailer parking in the hotel parking lot will be moved one row to the south. This will give us more room for a 40'x40' tent we are putting on the show field to keep everyone in the shade. The sponsor of the Tent, Jim Mihu, wants to see a central congregation point for all show attendees. I have a lot more details to share in about a week - I will be publishing a Youtube video this weekend. Special thanks to Sal for providing this birds eye view of last years show. The hotel remodel is complete and the parking lot has a new seal coat and new lines.

Hey guys - Quick update

We have 209 registered people for the show - 11 people are not bringing cars so we are at 198 registered cars - I do have about 8 spots left on the show field. FYI - All spots are assigned at our show so you park in the same spot on Friday and Saturday. For the most part we park cars by model year.

We have sold 345 banquet tickets for the awards/banquet. Thanks for your great support!!!

You know you and Joan are welcome to borrow the truck...it's just sitting here parked next to my shop for the past 6-7 weeks and it'll be a while before I can drive.
And I know it'll be in good hands...

EDIT...heck, for that matter...use it to trailer your convert ;)

Ken Hayes 08-07-2016 06:37 PM

Super great show in Strongsville. Fridays temps got pretty high and with the humidity it was almost unbearable but we survived. Saturday was in high 70's but still warm. Breeze helped out a lot.

Thanks to the NOCC for another excellent show.

A few pics from the show.

1st car: Brian Miller
2nd car: Joe Giniel
3rd car: Dan Sugar
4th car: Nancy's
5th car: Scott Miller

And a few more. Had to get me and Judy in there.

The one in the hotel's lobby is Buck Mercer's car. Buck passed away in April and the NOCC arranged for the Mercer family to bring the car and stay at the hotel on them.

The pic in the banquet hall is of Jeff Thompson, Jorden Mercer (Buck's son who is a spitting image of his father) and his Wife Katie.
