Prayers For Bill Burke (BillsCamino)
Bill is in the hospital and could use your prayers ,he went in with a kidney stone and had a stroke .He is a member here as well as Team Chevelle and much loved by all that know him .I am going to visit him tomorrow morning .
We'll keep him our thoughts John. You said he is a member here, I hope we're not talking about BillsCamino. In any case all the best to him and hope he has a full recovery.
That title should have read as Bill Burke AKA BillsCamino ,one and same .
I went to visit him this morning and he was in good spirits even though he was in pain from a stint in his bladder .He had just been given a shot of morphine to help ease the pain before I arrived .They were about to start his physical therapy as I was leaving .He has a long road to recovery but he is strong and I expect him to do well. |
Wow. Will keep him in our prayers.
Damn. never met Bill in person but I really like the guy. Give him our best when/if you see him again John.
Prayers to him and his family and give him my best.
John, if you go see him again give him our wishes for a speedy recovery. Also ask him if he ever played Call of Duty on the computer. Reason I ask is we had a guy named Bill Burke in our brotherhood and should be about the same age.
I dont know if he played computer games but I will ask and I will pass along the well wishes .Not only is Bill and Anne good friends to me but to all they meet ,just good people. I know he had a tough day yesterday starting physical therapy and will be moved to a different area of the hospital for even more brutal therapy soon.
Had a number of kidney stones and stints myself, they're killers. Never had a stroke but I know people that have made full recoveries. Hopefully Billi's was not to severe and therapy will get him back to his old self. God bless.
John, any update ob Bill? Tell him we're all pulling for him.
Hoping to hear that he is doing better. Met him and his wife, super nice people.
With my therapy I have not been able to get back down there but will post back as soon as I know more .
Went to see Bill and Anne earlier today ,Anne is holding up well .Bill looked much better than the other day ,less pain today .He is doing extensive therapy 4 times a day .He can now walk down the hall by himself with a cane but still has no use of his left arm although the muscles are still working .In time Bill will be fine but still needs the prayers ,SO KEEP THE PRAYERS COMING .
Many prayers sent to Bill and his wife. Thanks for the updates flash.

You got it. Glad you're doing well John. |
Rumors of my demise are greatly exaggerated.
I'M HOME!!!!!! What started out 3 weeks ago as a kidney stone removal procedure turned into a pretty severe stroke. I've spent the last weeks learning to walk. I was fitted today with a $2K carbon fiber lower leg brace to stabilize my left ankle/foot. Can 'ya say "Run Forrest Run". Walking small steps now carefully with a cane. Still no movement in the left arm. Speech has improved greatly but still slur my words when tired. Intense therapy they tell should me bring everything back eventually. I want to THANK y'all for all the prayers, well wishes, and calls!!!! |
Great news Bill, keep up the therapy and you'll be good as new soon
Glad to hear you are back home ,I had planned to come down for a visit yesterday but my physical terrorist worked me so hard I could barely walk afterward .You will continue to be in our prayers for a full recovery .
Wishing you a full recovery.
Sounds like you still have a sense of humor Bill. Glad to have you back. Best of luck during you're recovery.
So Bill, how are you doing. Improving with the therapy I hope. How about you flash? How's the back treating you these days?
It's a bitc* getting old, I should know. Hope you guys are doing better and can get back to doing what you enjoy. |
I'm progressing...thanks for asking Hank.
Just today I was able to switch from a leg brace to a knee cage...my ankle now has enough movement and range of motion that the full support of the leg brace is no longer needed. The knee cage prevents the knee from hyper-extending backwards due to a weak hamstring. We're working in therapy to strengthen that area. I walk with a cane...haven't used my wheelchair in weeks. I now can climb stairs. A little movement in my shoulder and thumb & index finger now...nothing much yet in the elbow or wrist...therapy focusing on that too. I take a driving aptitude test on Friday that no doubt I'll pass...finally will be able to drive my truck but sadly not the manual trans Chevelle...the stroke happened two months ago yesterday. Doing four 1hr therapy sessions per week...greatly helping in my full recovery!! |
Glad you're improving Bill. As I said, hope you get back to your old self and drive the Chevelle and all the other things you enjoy.
Glad to hear the update Bill ,cant wait to see you shifting gears in the Chevelle soon.
Hank ,I am doing well ,back at work full time but still on light duty ,cant lift more than 25 pounds .But the best part is NO BACK PAIN like before . |
Great to hear John about the lack of back pain...finally!!!
Got your and Joan's card in the mail today...thank you very much for the continued support. |
That's great John, glad to hear it.
Bill ,not a day goes by without Joan and I talking about you and Anne ,how good of people you guys are ,we are thankful to have you guys as friends .
Bill so glad to hear that things are getting better. Keeping you in my thoughts.
Hey Bill ,how you doing by now ,back to Therapy I hope ?
Thanks for asking John
I start back in therapy next month...saw my doc this week and she's pleased with my progress so far and has written an order for 10 more PT/OT sessions. I'm walking pretty good but carefully and have some arm/wrist/hand movement now which they'll work on to improve. |
Glad to hear you are doing better .
