Anyone have a car in the Autorama?

So the Detroit Autorama is coming up on February 26-27-28. Does anyone have a car registered to show, or is anyone going. If you are going what day will ya be there, maybe some of us could meet up and put a face to a name. Just a thought....what do you think?

I'll probably be there with my son and Ray Barnes. We usually go Saturday morning. I'll talk to him tomorrow and see if he plans on going this year. Last year was pretty bad. Water leaking from the roof and a pretty small showing of cars compared to previous years.

I don't know anyone that has a car entered in the show, but my friends and I are planning to attend. We've been going to this show for almost 20 years. We always go on Saturday and generally spend the whole day there. If I don't have to work, I'll be there.:)

I got a kick out of reading the "Crusin' News". I read that "The Fonz" will be there. Now don't get me wrong, I like Henry Winkler, but things must be bad for him if he is doing the weekend here.

Looks like I won't be going. My mother had a knee replaced a few months ago. She didn't deal with anesthetics and pain killers too well. She has been in rehab/nursing since then. She should be going back to my sister's house, Miami area, in a few weeks. We volunteered to come down for a few weeks and help out when she comes home.

My sister and brother in-law both work full time. Lynda doesn't work and I work from home. I can do that in 'sunny' FL as well as here.

Sorry you won't be able to make it to the show Hank. I hope your Mom gets well soon. Do us a favor and bring some of this cold weather down with you.Waving

Take a look at the national weather maps Brian, the cold weather is already down there.

Ya, I would hate to go all the way to Miami and still be cold. :(

Ms Grumpy 02-14-2010 06:50 PM

Heard on the radio the other day that only 2 states in the lower 48 had no snow. I guess that has probably changed since the snow storm last week.

Hank70SS 02-16-2010 10:17 AM

We're leaving Saturday, driving down. 51 in Charlotte, NC Saturday, that's probably the area we'll stop that night. 67 in Daytona Beach on Sunday, that sounds a little better. 77 in Miami on Monday, now we're talking!

grumpy 02-24-2010 09:20 PM

The wife, kids and a friend or two, along with me, will be attending autorama on Sunday. If anyone wants to meet up to say hey that would be great. Drop me a line.

Bowtie-Bri 02-26-2010 11:11 PM

I just wanted to say that I won't be able to go to the Autorama. I have a siatic nerve giving me fits which prevents me from sitting for very long. Hope you all have a great time! Waving

grumpy 02-27-2010 06:21 AM

Sorry to hear that. Hope your feeling well soon.

Hank70SS 03-07-2010 09:42 AM

So how was it Dave? Wish we had been around so I could have gone even if last year's was a little disappointing.

grumpy 03-07-2010 10:51 AM

This years was a little disappointing. There were more then a few real nice chevelles and a couple of tricked out ones to. I think the riddler cars were not up to years past quality.

My kids loved it and we had a pretty good time.

Glad you enjoyed it and sorry I missed it. We'll all have to get together this summer. Like to see my old friends again and met the new ones.
