Tire and rim sizes

Rim and tire choice has really been driving me crazy. I know that to get the best fit, we really should measure everything. After looking at many magazine and cars, this is what I was thinking of trying.

Nitto 555 Tires

Rear 255/50/17

Fr 245/45/17

Rims Torq thrust M

Rear 17X10.5 7.5" backspace or 17X9 6.75 backspace

Fronts 17X8 4.5" backspace or 17X9 6.75 backspace.

I really want a tire that has some side wall to it.

Which of these do you think would work best or, maybe suggest another size. Thanks

Dave

10.5s without tubbing.... is that possible??

I like the Nitto tires they have served me well in the past. I just put Khumos on the vette .... the jury is still out on those.

I've used this site with success to find 'maximum' tire/wheel sizes. As you'll see, they have guaranty sizing that will fit. Just start with "car" on left and follow prompts. You can force wheel size, tire size, etc and it will let you know if it fits. I did see a 17X9 with 5.3" BS for the rear....Direct Fit, And a 17X10 with 6.1" BS with a 275-40

After poking around I think I like the Nitto Invo's in the same size above better. Would 19X8 fronts, and 17X9's fit without any rubbing issues ? Thanks

Are your quarters rolled or trimmed? If so, you can fit an 11" wide wheel with 6.125" backspace. *only works with 17"+ wheels - smaller diameter wheels won't clear the shock mounts* Double and triple check your measurements to get the backspace right though.

With 10" wheels, you'll want 5.5" backspace.
