Ouch
Finally got the cost to finish my engine. All I can say is Ouch. A lot more money then I was hoping. Now I'm not sure I will be able to make a June deadline. For some reason this car has fought me on every level. Keeps needing more money more money and then more money. I'm already way over the budget I figured I needed to finish the car. In fact it is true take what you figured and double it, then add some more to it. I had not counted on doing a second engine. At this rate I need a second job. Just venting.

wow, everything I do on my car I'm always under budget....NOT:rolleyes:

Why two engines. You running one in the trunk also?? HAHA. What did it have? WHat ya putting in it?

First engine was a 69 396, worked on and then put in the car for 3 years. Went to finally get it ready to fire and would not turn over by hand. Ended up having water in cylinder No. 2 so it is full of rust. I can redue it for about half the cost of the one I want to put in, but don't want to take it back out down the road to put the correct CTX engine back in.

Ray, I think we all feel your pain. Your story sounds a lot like mine, especially with the second engine. It is always OK to vent here.

If everyone knew what you did about how much it really cost to build a car they wouldnt try to low ball when it comes time to sell.
