Original 66 Paint?
 

Does anyone know exactly what these cars were painted with from the factory? I've been told lacquer by some and enamel by others. I have a '66 SS Convertible I am restoring to factory numbers matching condition and when it is time for the paint, I want to stay as original as possible.

I always assumed they were painted with Lacquer but I'm far from and expert on this subject. Lets see what some of those more in the know say. By the way welcome to the site.

Welcome ,Im no expert but my money is on lacquer .I dont even know if you can get lacqer paint anymore.

It would have come painted lacquer but good luck finding some place to buy that now.
