67 Hood Springs
 

I have a 67 Chevelle Malibu. I want to replace my weak and tired hood springs but the OEM springs I found on eBay say they only fit SS Chevelles. Why wouldn't they fit mine? My hood has a fiberglass scoop as I'm running a small blower so I need heavy duty springs. I've used new springs made over seas but they last about 2 months. Suggestions?

Try gmpartsdirect, might be a set laying at a dealer somewhere. Are you sure it's the springs? If the hinges are worn the springs won't hold it up very good.

Thank you. I'll check them out. I think my hinges are OK but I'll look them over again.

If you can check them off the car that's the best. Do they have side to side play when the hood is up?

No side to side play at all.
