69 chevelle wheels

hi i have just picked up a 69 chevelle hardtop coupe here in australia. im ordering some new wheels for it and dont know if i should get 16 or 17" wheels. the car is orange currently running 14 " wheels. can someone give me some good ideas?

Nothing larger then a 17" looks good on these cars. I have seen some very nice cars with 16" and 17" wheels that look great on them.

The 17in wheels on a 69 look great. I have some pics of one with the torque thrust American racings, let me find them.

Get 17" wheels....greater choice of tire sizes in 17" than with the 16s.

I prefer 17s, but even those are becoming obsolete as well... There will always be tires available for them, but not necessarily "good" ones.
I'm going to have to move up to 18s just to get the best rubber for them. 16s have very limited tire selection. They're mostly tall/narrow non-performance tires, and nothing that will fit a rim over 8" wide. If you measure carefully and roll lips, you can fit 315s on 11" rims in the back of a '68-72. |

I like those and we need more pics of that 72 Chevelle on another post as well as more pics of that orange 69 .I like orange .
