Both doors are locked and I can't get in

Does anyone know of a way to get into the car with both doors locked from the outside? It's a 71. I locked both doors two nights ago and now I can't get in at all. I all worked fine two days ago and now its stuck in the driveway. I'm about to break a window to get it open I'm that pissed.

The windows on these cars are very easy to pry open a little so that you can use a coat hanger to pull up on the door lock. If nothing else, do yourself a huge favor and call a tow company and pay the $50 or $60 to have them open your car rather then replacing a window. I bet they have your car unlocked in 5 minutes or less.

The tow companies or police have an inflatable wedge that gets jammed in between the window and frame. Then when it is pumped up it creates a large enough gap to slide a rod-mechanism into the car which will either pull up on the lock or door handle.

I have always been able to get a coat hanger in along the top and down to the knob if it has a collar on it to open the door. If not I agree call a tow company of if you have AAA they will for you. I'm assuming your door locks keys are not working to open the door for some reason.

Yeah sorry I got in the next morning. I was so mad at the time with how bad the build went while I was downrange for a year. The guy who built it shafted me pretty hard.

That stinks man! But hey, don't lose hope! Sometimes the best thing to do is walk away and come back to it when you cool off! I've been there many times and in the end, I learn what needs to be done the next time. Not to mention, this forum is a great place to go for help!!

Hope this makes you laugh a little after being aggravated with the guy who worked on your car. I knew a dumb polack that had almost the same problem as you had except both doors were locked and he couldn't get out.

1st thing I always do within 24 hours of getting a new car, is to get atleast 3 extra sets of keys made. This has come in handy many times....Glad you got in the car with no damage.

Unfortunately I do have to replace the entire lock mechanism. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
