Installed Fesler 5" Halogens in 70 Chevelle
Posted this on another forum but thought I'd share it here as well.
Not much of a write-up really and I know this look doesn't appeal to some of the "purists" but I thought I would share my experience. I ordered two sets of the 5" Felser Halogen headlights to replace the sealed halogens currently on the Chevelle. I wasn't wanting a blue bulb or the ridiculous HID crap but thought the newer style headlight housing would look good on the car and it is something I don't really see too much of, or not around here anyway. I try to keep my car a mixture of new and old by doing things that look similar to original but in a more modern sense. Anyway, the install took maybe 10-15 minutes for all four headlights and a good portion of that was wiping down the areas hidden by the headlight trim. Both boxes ready to go http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMG_0965.jpg http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMG_0967.jpg Before photo http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMG_0966.jpg Installed - Not nearly as noticeable when you are not as close but I really like how much "cleaner" they look. The appearance (IMO) is not really all the different than the factory sealed T3 bulbs the car came with. It just has a modern twist. http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMG_0970.jpg A little blurry from my iPhone http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMG_0971.jpg |
I kinda like them. Just as long as they are not the blue kind.
But I have to tell you something, and this is coming from a woman, who is happily married. When I first scrolled down and saw them - I thought they looked like a pair of boobs. |
Yeah, I think it will be one of those things that I just grow accustom to. I don't love or hate them but the light output is significantly better so that is good. There were absolutely no modifications needed to install these so a swap back would take only a few minutes if I do decide and change my mind (which happens a lot with this car.)
Oh, and they are artificial but feel just as good as the real thing. |

Not a bad look at all. I like them a lot better then some I have seen.

I wish I could find some of those that look more like a stock type headlight... really want the better lighting, but don't want to change the look of the headlights.
