Vinyl dye
 

Question- I have a discoloration in one of my door panels. The panel is black, and some sort of solvent looks to have been dripped onto the vinyl and took the black out of it in several areas. I'd hate to replace a perfectly good panel. Is there a dye kit I could use to fix this?

SEM makes a spray paint for vinyl, soft plastics. Most of the restoration suppliers will have it. You'll also find it at some auto parts stores and automotive paint supply shops.

You could go to a upholstery shop and see if they can touch it up for you.

The panel has some chrome detail, which I'd need to tape off. What tape is recommended for this very fine detailing?
