Door glass
For those that have worked on door glass, my passenger door window makes a horrible screeching sound when I lower and raise it. It also doesn't have smooth movement as there is some resistance. Any suggestions before I start pulling things off?

I believe you will find a guide is missing some felt type material and letting the window rub against metal .I also could be thinking of my Trans Am instead of the Chevelle but will probably be a similar situation.

It's easy to remove the inside door panel, I would start there. Then you may be able to pin-point where the sound is coming from. If the sound is gone then look at the felt material flash mentioned along the top edge of the inside panel.

I use a door panel removal tool to pry the pins loose that hold the door panel to the door. That way you won't damage the door panel. Take it slow and work the panel a little at a time.
Shown here if you don't have one. http://www.ss396.com/mm5/merchant.mv...t_Code=TRIM-01 |
yes that tool looks to be helpful. I'll get a good look inside and report back. Thanks for the feedback.
