68,69 Hood

Looking into a bolt on hood for my 68. Can someone explain to me what the difference is with 68&69 hood hinges?? All the hoods say must use 69 Hinges. No big deal It's just bugging me.

Hinge to hood bolt spacing is different on a '68 hood than what is on a '69.
