Wiring Help

2 Attachment(s)
I don't even know where to begin on this. Not sure what wires go where, they were cut and taped. Looking to fire the motor off, then may replace the wiring harness.

Looks like the headlight wires. The black ones with the lugs are grounds and get screwed to the rad support. I assume this is a Chevelle you're working on, what year?

Its a 70 Chevelle. the wiring is butchered trying to find which wires go where Chilton manual is pretty worthless.

The 3 wire connector in the 2nd pic looks like it's for the high beam. Should be another on the other side of the car. Should also have a 2 blade connector on each side for low beams.

I had a 70 wiring diagram but my laptop got wiped out a few weeks ago. I'll look on the other computer and backup drive to see if I can find a copy.

Are you able to send a picture of how your car is wired so I can see you wire colors and what they go to. Thanks

Windshield and rear window of mine are out right now. Cleaning up the pinch weld so the car is covered with plastic tarps. May be able to get a picture tomorrow.

This picture is of the left side, but I agree with Hank High beam headlight plug.

Wiring

What color is the coil wire?

Hank70SS 07-20-2013 07:04 AM

Ignition coil wire from the bulkhead connector is a cloth covered wire. Originally was white or cream colored, they turn brown with age. It should be easy to find because of the different insulation. Also a yellow wire from coil to R terminal on starter, it's a regular wire. The above assumes wiring is original and still running points style ignition.
