Big Block Oil Pressure Fitting difference
 
ok so i am making my next list of things i need/want to get for my chevelle. I am looking at the oil pressure now to install my gauge. But i found 2 different ones what is the difference between the 2?

The difference is the tread size that goes into the engine block. One is 3/8 and the other in 1/2. I think mine was 3/8??? They can be found at a good hardware store or parts house. Just need the 45 degree bend. I know the non oil pressure gauge dash (or idiot lights) uses a different fitting to the one that has an oil pressure gauge.

Like Ray said, take your sensor to a hardware or auto parts store to get the correct fitting. I believe mine is 3/8" also.

from what i read one is for a high performance block and the other is for the non high performance block. meaning one is for 2 bolt one is for 4 bolt. Mine is a 2 bolt. I am going to see if the hardware store near me has them Might give me a reason to work on the car today since I have nothing new coming in..lol

Shaun, the 2 fittings you have links for are.....

133 = 3/8" NPT male threads
142 = 1/2" NPT male threads
