Lucked out
 

Just before I left again to go out of town I had my wife's Ford Escape in the shop because the steering wheel would luck up in reverse. The dealer said they had not heard of any problems with them. I went on line and found all kinds of complaints and took that back to the dealer. The cost was about $1400 to fix the problem. The dealer found the info and fix it for free and Ford declared a recall 2 days later. I wonder about all the people who payed for this repair already. In this case it payed to do the research and push the issue.
