roller rockers vs stamped rockers

OK so last week i got offered a set of roller rockers that i couldn't pass up.
https://www.yearone.com/Product/1967-81-Camaro/RR30

plus a bunch more stuff for $100. so i got them home and put them on a set of heads i had laying around to see how they fit. So now i want to know what is the advantage of these roller rockers vs the stamped rockers
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g6803/overview/

should i bother putting them on? leave it for the winter? do i need any other upgrades with it?

Roller rockers do not have side play. With high lift cams and high spring rates the stamped rockers deflect sideways at high lift. Which causes binding wear on the stud breakage push rods popping out etc etc when your spinning it to the moon. Better geometry in the valve/cam setup means your using the duration and lift correctly. No lag from deflecting parts.
Below 550 lift and the 6 billion lb springs needed with them your good with stamped. So put them on at your leisure. If you really needed them you would already know the first time you redlined it. But they are a good insurance.

Great info.

FYI...GM sells a complete long slot stamped rocker set...p/n 12368085...for less than $90
I just replaced the roller rockers on the BBC in my wagon with these. The full rollers were overkill on a mild big block.
Plus, now stock valve covers will fit ... no hassles.
