steering column

question
is it a large job to switch out steering columns on 69 floor shit Chevelle?
it has non tilt, and I was thinking of putting in a tilt from a similar GM car under 1979 due to splindal differences. but is this job pretty straightforward or a pain in the butt? thanks

Easy peasy. I did my column shift on my '70.

Not a bad job at all. I swapped a tilt column into my 72.

does it require taking off dash, how long did it take you to do it?

Dash stays put. A couple of hours for a first timer

ok, thanks for your help

As said, dash stays. Remove the hush panel under the column. Mostly plug and play. I didn't have any linkage to mess with, my car is a 4 speed manual.

question on this one again. what columns will work with the Chevelle? like, will C 3 corvette column work? or any others from like a impala or similar size GM car? thanks

I want to say you are stuck using a 68-75? GM A Body column.
