68 chevelle rear panel
 

I'm looking to paint the rear panel on my 68 chevelle. I made it into a ss clone and the rear panel is red the same color as the rest of the car. I know the rear panel on the ss is supposed to be black, but is it flat black, gloss black or satin black. Also what grit sandpaper should i use to scuff the paint so i can spray it black. I'm just using a rattle can for the black paint. I figured its a small area and that should be just fine.
