Movie with 55 chevy?
 

This is a tough one.When I was a kid I remember a movie with if my memory is right was a 55 chevy.The part of the movie I rember is young guy looking at a 55 chevy in a farmers barn because he needed it for racing and the farmer tells him if he can get it running he can have it.Thats all I remember but it stuck with me because I dreamed it would happen to me.I want to find this movie and ad it to my collection.Im not sure if it was a 70s or early 80s movie.Thanks.

It sounds like a scene from the 1979 movie "Hot Rod", but it was a '41 Willys coupe.

There's a lot of scenes from that movie on youtube, but I couldn't find any of that particular scene... in that movie, they also broke into Don Garlits museum to steal a blower drive when he broke the willys. :o

I checked out the utub stuf last night and 90% sure its the movie.The first clip I watched ended with the crash of his car.The next clip started with him on the side of the road with his willys.Something was missing between the 2.My wife read an old artical that said after he first crashes he goes to a salvage yard and finds the willys there.The owner of the salvage yard gives him the car as long as he promises to beat the rich kid in town drag racing.Thing that sucks is its a made for tv movie and I cant get it from netflix.Ill get this movie some way some how.You would think watching this movie 31 years ago my memory would be better.Not a barn a salvage yard.lol

You're correct... he crashes his HEMI Mopar, then gets the Willys from the owner of the salvage yard and puts the HEMI in it.

My brother has it on DVD, but I'm not sure where he got it.
