cut it up or stock
OK guys I need some input. If you had the choice what would you do with a 69 Chevelle that needs a full floor pan and a trunk pan? Back half it with big tires or stock floors and keep it OE.

I'd say stock floors & cut up everything else. ;)

What would I do? I would cut it up if thats what I wanted. I'm not a huge believer in every car needs to remain stock. I love that there are so many out there, and I love a well done stock or original car, but I can also appreciate a good modified car as well.
As I walk around Chevelle~abration it always makes me realize how much the modified ones stand out to me in a sea of original. Now if you want my true opinion, skip stock and skip the huge meats and go for a nice mini tub job. That would be my preference jeff |
I love the mini tub idea. On 1 of my other 69 Chevelles I had a 10 inch rim with 29 by 12 tire on it, without cutting anything and stock suspension it looked awesome. Im not sure about the big tire deal because of loosing the back seat, it would have a 4 link in it.

It would depend on what your plans are for the car. If your plans are for a nice restomod or cruiser then I would stay stock; If it was for tearing up the steets and going to the drag strip from time to time then it would depend on how fast I want to go. Remember it's your car and since it's not an SS anything will work but if you plan to sell it some time down the road being closer to stock it a good idea. If it's a keeper then I might run mini tubs if the tires or rear end I was planing for the car might need the extra clearance.

I appreciate both stock and modified cars. As long as it makes you happy is the motto that works for me.
