It is in fact a real COPO and one of two or maybe three known KAN (KC, MO "Leeds" GM Plant) COPO's at that!!
The original Bill Allen Dealer Invoice I saved (scans of my circa '69 original docs) shows:
TO409MP = L72 COPO Motor code (with a 12/12 bumper to bumper & 5/50 power train warranty)
Harrell "transplant" cars had a 90 day warranty . . .
72/72 = Monaco Orange (available ONLY on SS and COPO)
My car is not an SS, no SS trappings, it is a COPO Chevelle with a factory L72 427CI engine
