Exhaust Riser, Necessary ?
I have a 283 with dual exhaust. Is the exhaust riser necessary since this is a southern car. The gasket leaks and when I replace the gasket I can get rid of the riser if it is not needed.

I agree it is not really needed. Mine is tack weled open. .

I should have said exhaust riser is now history.

Harvey, you may not know but you can edit your original post instead of adding another. Whichever you prefer, just letting you know the option is available. The option may go away after a day or two but if it's soon it's there.
