Default Hugger Headers

I was looking for some feedback on hugger headers. I'm putting a new SBC 350 in my 71 Chevelle and was wondering if anyone had put on hugger headers. Wondering about clearance and performance. I know longer header primary tubes are better performance-wise, but I'm thinking more about using hugger headers or the factory exhaust manifolds. The engine has stock heads and around 325hp. I have power steering and the factory air box on the firewall (although I don't have any A/C as of yet). Just wondering about your guys opinions before I go out and buy any kind of headers.

Thanks.

Similar chassis, I have Patriot mid length headers on my 72' Monte Carlo. Plenty of ground clearance, and clearance in the engine bay. (I have factory AC, power, steering, etc.) The car had rusty and dented full length headers when I got it - so I pitched them. They work well, the car has a mild 355 with a mild cam.
