Default Front Main Seal

I believe I will need to replace my front seal and was trying to search it on this forum but for some reason was not coming up with any results. I suspect there is much on this but for some reason I am not doing the search correctly.

I was curious what the level of difficulty was and procedure to replace it.

I have not spent the time yet to fully confirm it's the seal and not the oil pan but the seal has always leaked so I am pretty sure it's failed. I went from a few drips to a fairly large stain on the card board I leave under the car. Just noticed it this morning. Great way to start the week.

Thanks for the video. But with a SBC, the seal is in the timing chain cover. Can that be popped out and replaced with out removing the timing cover? I have a chrome type. I’ve read elsewhere you have to remove the cover and oil pan?

You would need to remove the timing cover. Most chrome timing covers always leak, that why I don't use them,

Before replacing, try a bottle of AT-205. I have seen it fix some bad leaks.
