Default Manual Six Speed

Anyone using the T-56?
I'm doing my research and just gathering information right now. Looking to pull the trigger beginning of next year. I have 72 Chevelle 454 292 cam 373 gears. automatic on the column. Ive heard nothing but good things once installed.

I take it you like them very much. I was going with a M-22 until i heard about these. What ratio is your first gear on the chevelle. Is it true the overdrive gears allow you to cruise 70mph at 2,000rpm? Any issues to consider besides cutting the tunnel and shortening the drive shaft?

well i can tell you this with my rx7 since it has a working speedo and i have 4.11 gears in 6th gear i can do 70 @1800 rpms in the chevelle i have not taken it out on the highway yet so i dont know..lol i ordered a drive shaft that was 50.5 inches long which fit perfect for my t56 and 12 bolt rear. my gearing is the following
2.66, 1.78, 1.30, 1.00, .74, .50

the tunnel you have to cut it and raise it about an inch and a half. I did that and it sits perfectly

the 2014 camaro trans mission is the same size as an 98-2002 t56 as well so can you explain how you use that trans without cutting the tunnel?

my t56 next to my super t-10

My brother did it. I may be misinformed. But I don't think he did. I believe he cut and welded the cross member to lower it. I had the cross member but i scrapped it.
Sorry I may just be remembering wrong. I do still have a drive shaft from that car cut to fit in the garage in case i want to do it later.
