I have a 64 Malibu, 283 with a Rochester 2bbl. The new problem is that if the engine sits for 1/2 hour after being run it requires a lot of cranking to get it restarted. It seems like the carb runs out of fuel . Once it starts it runs great.
Is there a check valve in the fuel pump that could be allowing the fuel to run out of the carb and back towards the fuel tank. Looking at the starter motor location I am not anxious to replace it anytime soon. Thanks. Harvey |
