Default got my first Chevelle

Get a family car they said....
Go green they said....

I dug around for a while and found a rust free 68 Malibu wagon that has spent its entire life in California......BRIGHT GREEN..... for $3000... that'll teach them.

Basically the story is that my 97 Camaro SS that I drove off the showroom floor sadly isn't working out with my bad back and my 3yr old daughter. My 69 Charger (hate me all you want) is YEARS and at least $35k from being what I want. So it's time to get real (relatively) about a decent usable driver....that's cool....and we are NOT SUV/import/crossover/hybrid people. The woman agrees and in fact stated that she better not be embarrassed to be seen in it (ford girl, don't get me started). She even likes it, and is looking forward to opening up the 3" pipes in the preschool parking lot and irritating the prius and SUV people.

The wagon starts right up and the body is solid. The interior is about 75% there. Could replace as few things but nothing immediate. Other than a REALLY good cleaning it looks surprisingly good for a 68. The electrical system sadly may have been done by a drunk 10yr old...it needs a little love...AC is 1/2 there..heater core needs replaced...weather stripping is shot....springs and shocks also done for...manual drum brakes are "working" but need attention.....some dents on the pass. side and an Earl Scheib paint job but 95% of the chrome is there and in good shape.

The 327, the power glide tranny, and the rear end are all original..in fact the whole car is mostly all original. Just a couple of bolt on hot rod parts, the intake and exhaust and that's it.

Over all we are pretty happy with it, and my daughter loves being able to crawl around in a proper station wagon just like I did when I was a kid.

Now my work begins........
