Default 383 build question

Hey guys my uncle came to me and asked to build a 383. I was taught in the old school that you take a 400 crank with a 400 flywheel and crank pulley. I called around and scored a block and a 400 crank. I didn't buy it yet from him but he is holding it for me. I was doing research and then called the machine shop. The guy at the shop told me "save your money and get the new 383 crank that is made to fit 350 blocks and you can use all your 350 flywheel and crank pulley" have any of you guys ever built a 383 or have a 383 built? what parts did you use? and any info you can give me would be great!
