I'm 5'10 184. Last winter. I was 192. The most i've weighed in a few yrs. I watch what I'm eatting. And walk 3 miles a day! Not only did I lose some weight. I feel beeter also. Plus in the winter. we joined the gym at the new high school. Walk inside. Above the gym floor. Plus you get to watch the kids play basket ball. We take our grand kids there once in a while. While we walk. They play.

Well I did my first triathlon over the weekend. It was just a sprint distance, 1/4 mile swim, 15 mile bike and 3 mile run, and I can tell you I am now addicted to triathlons!! What a rush, it drains you both physically and mentally. Any of those single sports and distances on their own are pretty easy, but go back to back to back as fast as possible with them all and it becomes a challenge for sure. To keep the mental strength to keep yourself going in itself is a chore. I love it, it was physically demanding and I cant get enough of it. I have already signed up for another and likely their will be a third yet this year. The first was an excellent learning lesson in how to do them, so the next one I wil be better prepared for how the transistions work and such. Now I want to try an olympic distance one, 3/4 mile swim, 30 mile bike, 6.2 mile run. The training has begun for that

Good job Rick, I bet you do feel better overall.

I'm 5'8", 145 so weight is not a problem. I do need to be more active. Summer time helps, I stay pretty busy working around the yard or on the cars. If I work my butt off outside I may be exhausted at the end of the day but I know I feel better than if I did nothing.

Jeff, good for you, sounds like you found a new passion. Good luck on the next event.
