236 Casting peanut ports. Junk, find a set of early heads, (65' - 70') with 100cc or smaller chambers. Use steel head shims, and it will bump the compression up a lot. Plus the larger ports flow more. It's a budget upgrade, and a proven combo. With a matched cam and intake/carb + headers, it's an easy 12 second combination. A member on Team Chevelle did the exact build in his 70' El Camino, it ran 12.70's in a 4000lb truck. (kettbo is his user name)
