Like Eric said, a short block has the rotating assembly, crank, rods, pistons. You have to add heads, intake, water pump, oil pan, etc. Long block usually includes everything except carb, distributor, valve covers, alt, power steering pump, exhaust manifolds, etc.

Tell us what you're trying to do, what needs replacing and maybe we can help.

Not sure on the turbo 350. It could mean a Turbo Fire 350 engine. Chevy called a lot of their engines 'Turbo Fires'. Could also mean a 350 turbo hydromatic trans. In that era Chevy had a 350 and 400 turbo hydromatic trans. The 350 trans would have been used on small block engines. Not sure any of that matters, you can bolt up a lot of different transmissions to a 350 V8.
